AC Issue
Afternoon All,
I have a 2012 Grand Sport Coupe. I drove my car down for its annual oil change at Kerbeck. On the way down everything seemed fine. On the way back I noticed that the re-circulation light will not turn off. The car is blowing cold air but it seems that the air blowing out on the passenger side is much colder than the driver side. Yes, I checked that both were set to the same temp. I tried shutting the system off a couple of times. Still can't get the light out.
In the past, after startup, the most that light would stay on would be about 2-5 minutes. Hell, its not even that hot or humid here today. I do have a GMPP if there is something wrong. So if it has to go back, I'm not too concerned.

Anybody got any suggestions. Thanks folks
Could it be stuck down? Before I replaced my control unit a few months ago the defogger button on mine would stick when I pushed it in. The only way I could tell is it wouldn't respond when I tried to turn it off. I could grab it with finger nails and pop it up though. I took the unit apart and cleaned it all up from behind and reassembled and it still did it. New one works perfect though.
Maybe a system reset, disconnect the battery for a few minutes, reconnect, re-index windows and see how that works for you. Could be a quick fix, electronics can get confused sometimes.

Thanks,
Pretty sure the button is OK. If I push it in, the light goes out. Push it again, the light comes back on.

Thanks. Can I just remove the negative side or do I have to remove both?
I also noticed, for the first time, the driver seat rocks back on acceleration.
There is a fix, a DIY installing nylons washer in the mechanism, first discovered on C5's, and I believe that this to be the same remedy for C6's. http://www.lieblweb.com/c5seatfix.html
If the dealer replaces the tracks, I think that would be the way that they would go about repairing the rocking issue. This could also be the whole track assembly with the power motor and all, but I have no first hand experience.

If it's a little hotter or more humid than normal the recirc light will always stay on because that's a lot more efficient for the AC. My C6 is the first car that I've owned that pretty much always wants to stay in recirc mode here in the swampy MidWest, even though my C5's never did this (we're at 100 today in St. Louis!). If it goes out with a button tap, then forces itself back on soon, or just stays on that sounds exactly like what 2 different C6's I've owned do. It's the environment.

Here in the NE it usually doesn't get that bad. It always goes into Recirculation Mode on start-up in Auto but usually shuts off after about 3-5 minutes.

There is a solar sensor (the little button on top of your dash) that helps regulate the temp inside the car. When in "AUTO" it will switch "Recirculation Mode" on/off as needed.
Chapter 8 in the oft disparaged owners manual.

Why don't you shut off the passenger side and see what happens. I've never have my passenger side on.
