Just got my first Vette. Love it! 2013, 427 vert, 60th anniversary collectors edition. Did I say I love it? The dealer said the little box up near the top of the windshield next to the rear view mirror is a rain sensor for the automatic windshield wipers. Well from all I can tell the car doesn't have automatic windshield wipers. Did Chevy slap the sensor box on some cars and then not bother to complete the system? That would be odd. The box is black plastic, about 1.5" by 1.5" by 6". Does anyone know what that thing is? And is it possible to complete the system and actually have the rain sensing wipers that I paid for?
No C6 with a rain sensor for the wipers.
The box is for OnStar.
Nav Antenna is in the center of the dash pad.
SiriusXM antennae are in the side mirror housing.
Holy crap cfairer, I'm just over the old bridge on Oak Island, NC. Welcome to the C6 forum and very nice ride BTW! Enjoy it for many miles and oh yeah...I'm officially jealous.
Car salesmen know next to nothing! And most of what they think they know is incorrect.
Especially about this car. I'm a habitual test driver, and it's amazing the stuff they pull out of their nether-region to "impress" a potential buyer.
but it is fascinating to hear some of the BS explanations they come up with. Some parts stores are just as bad. I was picking up an alternator for my wife's car and the guy says "make sure you disconnect the battery and before you do you need one of those 9v memory savers that plug into the CIG lighter. Otherwise the dealer will charge over $100 to reset the computer and radio stations."
I love it when guys at the dealership talk and have no idea what they're talking about. I have a Cadillac with rain sense and it doesn't have a box like that for it.

He was partly correct if it was a Bentley. Only it is slightly more than $100.
that was a good salesman , colllectors edtion {LOL} don't drive it they only retain value if you keep it under a 100 miles on the OD, let me guess you paid more then book, because it's so rare
