Default 2013 base vette

I have a 2013 base vette.. the wiper blades are bad after only 18K miles...was going to just changed but notice on the drivers side there is a plastic piece that looks like a wind deflector ?? Not sure what to do ?? Also just today a "new" issue the temperature number on the AC/ heat control is on 69 degrees and doesn't change.. I have to turn the AC down below 69 to get cold air...all works fine but the temperature numbers do not?? any ideals would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Bobby

It's still under warranty; take it to the dealer and make them fix the A/C issue.

As far as the wiper blades go, just change them out. There's nothing special about them.

You can get the "special" blades at the dealer, and they don't cost any more than any other kind. I think mine were like $12 each at my dealer. You can also order them from some forum vendors, and I think on Amazon.

You should be still under warranty, so have the dealer replace the temperature sensor. It's designed not to increase in temperature reading right away though ... I think maybe 5 minutes after you take it out in the sun. It'll go down right away if it's colder outside than in your garage or parking spot.

The rubber on the blades is 3 yrs old, their ineffectiveness has nothing to do with mileage.

You can get the refills or whole blades for cheap.

Also try pressing the two defrost and the fan up arrow at the same time to see if the temp will change.

O'Reilly auto parts had Trico wiper blade inserts for my 2013. About $15 for the pair if I recall. You can order online I believe.

If you want to keep that little plastic air blade on the driver's side, just get Anco N21R blades. these are JUST the rubber refills and not the complete arm. They install fairly easily. Not many parts stores carry just the N21R rubber refills, Amazon has them.

On install, the factory rubber blades have a rubber molded end holding the blade in place, You have to break this loose, pretty much destroying the old rubber blade. Just don't damage the the numerous U brackets on the arm. The replacements lock in with a spring clip at the very end of the new rubber blade.
