So I killed the battery because I left the radar detector on. Now I cant get my car to pass smog, when the guy plugs in the scan tool 3 lights were blinking, O2s / evap / cat. The gut told me I had to go drive it and to look up the driving cycle, looked it up and have been driving it almost 800 miles, the evap light went out, finally how ever the o2s light and the cat light are still on. I did have the cats replaced at the dealership due to a recall but that was 800 miles ago. Any ideas ???
Might be something wrong with the emissions system with the new cats just installed. Could be a leak in the system. Might want to have the dealer check into this issue. Having a code for the O2's indicates such a problem. With the codes that you have, it's possible that they are not emissions ready yet because of the lost battery power.
I'm not sure but you could try to disconnect the battery and maybe the O2 DTC will clear, but you still have to drive it some so that the system does it's OBD system check routine again. If it passes that time, you should be able to get thru inspection.
If you have a scan tool, you could check to see if the system is in a readiness state before attempting a re-inspection, or go to a auto parts store and they could check it for you.
With the codes that you have, it's possible that they are not emissions ready yet because of the lost battery power.
PS..... They are not DTC that I was referring to but readiness conditions.

Thanks, there are no malfunction codes, just the cat and the o2s are still not ready, I have a scan tool to check, it was red when the evap light was on as well but now yellow because evap went off
I would say a combo of both, but shorter trips between 30-40 miles, I can not believe this is normal, what a hassle !!!
From what I've been told, the number of start/stop cycles for the engine is more likely to reset them than the total number of miles. But that probably varies from make to make.
