IMHO the NPP with Switchable FOB is the way to go. If say we are pulling a slight grade going out of town the drone gets very prevalent so I close the baffle, otherwise its OPEN
It is the best of both worlds

Wow
I hope I can get mine installed for $200. Great deal.

Is the performance noticeably different?

On mine, an 08, I had a cam and a tune done at the same time, so I couldn't say how much just the headers improved performance, but damn does it ever sound good.

I had a relatively mild cam installed. My car dyno'd at 387 stock, and 455 after the mods. I'm happy...

Yes the performance improvement is very noticeable and it has not been tuned properly yet.

I'm about to pull the trigger on these but I can't wrap my head around the fact that they are an H pipe. While every other aftermarket exhaust for the corvette are X pipes. It actually kinda makes me upset. I hear they there is a performance and sound benefit to X pipe. I almost want to buy the off-road model and weld cats in. Any input or opinion on X vs H?

I am considering headers this winter and these look like the ****! I have NPP mufflers so I'd be able to keep them quiet at will! Any update on these? Sound clips would be great!

On Hinson's website it shows X pipes but the OP pics look like an H. I wonder why? https://www.hinsonsupercars.com/p-86...pes-black.aspx

Correction, I took another look at the website and it says that the off road pipes are X and the catted mids are H

have Hinsons wrapped with out cats x pipe put over three thousand miles on them. ran to ill ,ky,tn.nc. 219 both ways then back to il. the zo6 came alive at lower alt. no noticeable drone. they installed way easier than i thought they would. while installing them also done the insulation install after driving 3000 it was worth the trouble an money to have a very cool car without using the air.JD

I am having problems with Hinson.
I ordered the 1 7/8 headers with the 3 inch mid pipe. I have an LS3. I was told no problem. We checked and double checked just to make sure.
During the install we had problems.
Mid pipe was hitting transmission lines. The connector piece would not work from the mid pipe to the exhaust. I had to over night the correct connectors for 70 bucks plus the price of the pieces. I think around $270.00. They still took work. My wrench spend about 8 hours total both days. I contacted them about return freight for the wrong pieces. I was asked if I wanted to do that. I said yes. I never heard from them again.
I sent the wrong pieces back. I never got a credit on my card. I have turned it over to USAA for help. Not heard anything yet. I have receipt from UPS stating time, signature and indoor delivery.
Happy to answer guestions.

Is your car an A6 car? Did you order the catted H pipe or the off road X pipe? Full 3" or 3"-2.5"? Thanks for your review because I was worried how these would fit with the bigger auto trans of the LS3 car.

My experience with Hinson was positive. I have an '06 base with an automatic. I went with 2.5 inch with cats and h pipe. From the headers back the install was a piece of cake. Did it myself on jackstands. The bi mode mufflers were retrofitted from 3 to 2.5 inch pipe.
I don't see how 3 inch would fit, since 2.5 inch is tight with an auto. Did you talk to Brian at Hinson? He's really good to help out with any issues.

I've heard many times that you should NOT wrap stainless steel. You might want to do some research before you wrap them.

If you choose to use Hinson headers, I would suggest that you send them to jet hot coat for a quality coating, no need then for some kind of wrap

Hinson headers come already coated. It is recommended not to wrap coated pipes, it's ok to wrap uncoated.

Rattle can coating. As said above Jet coating is the best, but very expensive. Note:I have ARH non coated and they said wrapping them could cause cracking?......Just saying
