I've had mine off a total of 1 time since I've owned the car..That was to install the rubber washers on the pegs so it would stop squeaking...It doesn't squeak now so I will probably never take it off again unless it starts making noise again... WW

I agree , I love taking mine off on those cool nights then opening up my NPP'S and making some noise
Right now , in the heat of summer , I leave it in and use the air conditioning, even swapped out my clear roof panel for my painted one because it's so darn hot ....

I wouldn't presume to tell someone else what is right for them, but...
Our first car with an easily removable top was a 1998 Z28 Camaro. I bought it with the clear T-Tops because they gave me a little more headroom and a nice view out the top. But I never intended to actually remove them, and almost asked the dealer to use silicone RTV to seal them up so they could never leak or come loose.
Then one summer evening, my wife suggested we put the tops in the trunk and go for a ride to see what it was like. We were both instantly hooked, and never considered any Corvette except the ones with an easily removable targa. We don't take the top off very often, but it's magic when we do.

Haven't had mine off the entire year. The last time it was off was last fall, I think October, when I had sound insulation installed in the car. Maybe I'll remove it when things cool down a bit in a month or so ... but the wind is really an issue at any speed at all.
Mine come off all the time for local driving when the weather is decent. I find, however, that the buffeting at speed is pretty bad, so long interstate trips always are done with the top on.
Now I did a high-speed "Track Night in America" with the targa off. The buffeting was fun!
I only have the tinted top, which is offers a bit more headroom and makes the car seem pretty open even when it is shut.
So here we are the 10th of August and I have to ask all coupe owners,(excluding Z owners of course) how many times during the course of the year have you removed your top? I believe I had mine off 2 or 3 times upon taking it out of winter storage. Maybe due to laziness, taking off putting on or just satisfied enough with the windows down. Any others out there that seldom take their tops off? Maybe I should seriously think of buying a Z06.
Considering mine spent 5 weeks away from me so there would be a lot more to count, I'm saying at least plus 10. Every chance I get, the roof is off. I love it!

Before I got my car, I had driven a friends C6 with the top off and I didn't like my hair blowing in my face and eyes. When I tried wearing a hat , it blew off my head and I had to turn around and go get it...Im sure it's nice running with the top off, but I'm pretty tall and my head comes real close to the roof so the wind really beats me up... It looks like I"ll just have to be satisfied driving with the top on, unless I decide to shave my head......WW

I take my "Targa" top off any time the weather permits. I love the convertible experience. Anytime someone wants to go for a ride they like the top off. I have headers and Corsa exhaust and they sound better without the roof. Had her 155mph without the top and my hat stayed on, but I am only 5'7". But be careful when you put it back on.....do not become a member of the Corvette Flying Roof club!

A ton of hair spray helps out quite a bit. Wait a minute, that's how I lost most of mine. If you believe that one I'll tell you another. Us guy's that are balding always look for an excuse as to how and why it happens. But seriously, I wear a hat and it stays on pretty damn good, and I'm about 6 feet tall.
