While I can appreciate your thinking, it just doesn't apply to the younger generation of today. In 20 years our cars will be just that, 20 years older than they are now with no significant value. I've had this conversation with younger kids and younger adults. I wish what you are thinking was true. My Vette is the exact same colors as yours.
I do not agree! Just take a look at the C1-C2 Forum. I see a 64 on there for $62,500 and the seller mentions that it is rare because it has Factory air and a 365 HP 327. That is a 50 year old car and that is what I meant when I said my car could be valuable in the future. I know it will not be in my lifetime but then again, I have mine listed at a fair price according to KBB. If I knew then what I know now, I would still have my 67 427/435 Black Convertible with factory air and sidepipes!
I hear you, but...again:
The '64 was the part of a 5 year run. The '08 is part of a 13 year run. In 2061 will your "rare" '08 be worth more than a "plain" '08?
Just sayin...

Well of course the seller mentions it. It's human nature for sellers (of anything) to emphasize good points and downplay bad points. It is also human nature for buyers to do the opposite. The seller can say or claim anything he wants, but when crunch time comes -- when a check exchanges hands -- that reveals whether any of it mattered or not.
sure about what? In another post, i described buying the car in about 76 in oklahoma city. At the time it was a green convertible with factory air, side pipes, stinger hood, and a worn out 327 which i had rebuilt. I sold the car in 1979 and 6 or 7 years later i received a call from the current owner at the time. He was researching the car and told me that the original color was black and that it was a 427/435, side pipes and factory air! All i can say about the car!

You are too easy...
If I knew then what I know now, I would still have my 67 427/435 Black Convertible with factory air and sidepipes! Except it was green and had a SBC.
1967 L71 427/435 was not available with factory air conditioning.
Well then I guess that the guy who told me that was wrong? He was the collector not me! I did say that when I got it, it was Green with a white top, factory air with missing vents, side pipes, stinger hood, and a tired old 327! I do remember that I paid $3800 for it and sold it for $5400. I did however replace the top and had the engine rebuilt. I might have broken even on the car?
