Buy a used steering wheel, console lid, shifter...etc from someone ...swap out those parts before the insurance company takes the car. Put them on your "new" vette, then sell the ones you take off. Provided you get another red one that is. I do really like the steering wheel and console lid, the rest I could take or leave.

That is not good at all. Glad that you were not hurt though.

Here's a picture of mine.. Do you guys like it? The previous owner installed all of this. I am not sure what is/not original. Please chime in on what may be stock. Because i don't see this combo on any of the Vettes I've seen. Even the floor mat/cargo mat is upgraded.
I hear you on the all black interior. It does look boring. I plan to do mine red and black.

None of the red interior stuff in your car was factory. Look like the previous owner upgraded the steering wheel, shifter & shift boot, center console, center console lid, e-brake & boot, and added door wraps and side mirror covers.

Every single piece I've seen for sale on here. Those mats can also be found on ebay. The e-brake and the shift cover and **** can be purchased in a package together also. The arm rest, exactly, has been sold on here too. I've seen that steering wheel on ebay as well...exact one. The console trim I have not seen. And lastly, the side mirror covers look custom to me. Idk. Hopefully, others will chime in and help you out as for pointing you to the correct sponsoring business sights that promote on here selling those items so you can see what you're looking at to get that awesome look you had in your cool ride. Hope it helped! Have an awesome holiday weekend!

Default Final Decision

Good News here. After hiring a private appraisal company recommended from someone here I was able to get a substantial increase in the amount of my appraisal. I had to invoke the "appraisal clause" of my own insurance which involved me hiring an private appraiser and the insurance company hiring an independent one and both coming to an agreement. I was initially offered $27135 from the insurance company. With all of the this the final offer is $33200. Quite a difference for only having to pay the appraiser a small fee, relative to the settlement difference.. BTW they are autoloss.com.
I owe $28xxx so I am seriously considering buying the car back as salvage because the salvage buy back is only $7663. I am a bit short but i can get the funds.
LOL I already have another red Vette picked out so i can just change over the interior, engine and Corsa. It already has 3.42 diff and only has 23xxx miles.
But there's a catch. I may be moving shortly to NC. For a new job and more $$$$$$$$$.

If you're very good at it you can do the repairs on this salvage yourself like: "vigman" (https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...y-project.html) and "AL_Jazz" (https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...c6-rescue.html). But if not great at this, think twice. They are doing it practically as a full-time job.

As to that steering wheel, you may be able to find it on ebay used, but unless I'm wrong that's an MCS Mike's steering wheel and retail new it's about $450+. Great wheel tho.

Good luck and glad you got a good settlement. Maybe it's time to look for a replacement vs. a rebuilding.

Glad you were able to reach an equitable settlement for diminished value with the insurance company.

Also good to hear that autoloss was able to assist you too in presenting a viable claim.

Glad to see you used Autoloss.com and got good results. I was involved in a similar accident in February and contacted Autoloss.com and was going to use them, if my insurance company didn't step up to the plate. In the long run, the insurance company did the right thing and paid more than I expected, after they totaled the vehicle. Here's my photo which is similar to yours. Mine had frame damage and the estimate was going upwards of $18,000 when they quit looking and still would have gone higher.
Glad yours worked out well and you weren't hurt. I ended up going from a 2009 base AT to a 2011 GS 6M with less miles.

Holy cow man! Glad you are alright. Looking at the width of your window and that corner of the caddy hood, this could have been a lot different had they been hit any harder. Especially if you weren't wearing a seat belt.

Ouch! Seeing your car like that is like looking at those still photos of Mike Tyson's glove connecting with someone's face

Gotta say, you are a demon the way you work on that car (s). Hard to believe you have another job!
