Man I have been trying for years now to get someone to install HUD in my car. What will it take to get this done. Anyone in the northeast have this done? Can you recommend someone? I tried Steve Doten many times but I guess he is busy with other stuff. Can anyone help me out here????????
1st I would want know your locations, in your avatar so we know your locations.
2nd I would try speed shops that works on Corvettes.
3rd has last I would go to your local car dealership, I know the one down here does them, it's pricy. My cousin had them install one in his car, and the price different from speed shop difference was few hundred, and better warranty on the install.
I would think you could round up the parts and find a stereo install shop that would do it. It is a very basic install for someone who has been in a dash before.

I would not say "cutting the duct" is a basic install for a stereo shop and neither is getting the projection unit in place ......
But .... if someone has done it before it is easy to tell someone about cutting the duct and the cable saw they should use and wherr to cut it , along with slotting the projector mounts and putting the ten mm bolt on the stud first .....and the many other tricks to getting the HUD in place with out removing the dash
Now wiring it up ...yes that is basic.....
To the OP , I would look up the HUD install videos that are on u tube and read the many posts on this forum , it's not a bad install if you know what you are doing but if you go into it blind .........

You obviously have not installed one before. I have. Cutting the duct takes 30 seconds. Guys on here can do full install in 45 minutes. It is not difficult.

Don't assume please .......
you are wrong I have installed it .... and helped others install their HUD units ...and yes I can do it in 45 min too
And I did say that if you have done it before and know what you are doing its easy ......but if you don't and are not using the right tools like the ratcheting 10mm box or the pvc pipe cutter
It's going to be a lot harder ....... I don't think most stereo shops have ever installed a HUD ...
You are giving the OP the feeling that anybody can install this without messing anything up and that is not true
sal.. come on man just do it yourself.. If you want I'll give you a hand.. look over the instructions and see if you want to try..
/joe corvette society... Where you been man????
Joe - hope you are doing well. This has been a lousy year for me with health issues on both sides of the family. My father in law is waiting on a heart transplant so I have been spending a lot of my time visiting hospitals. He is in Mt Sinai now. I have a tear in my shoulder and 2 bulging discs in my neck so driving hasn't been enjoyable lately. Dr's can't wait to inject me or perform surgery. My car has barely seen the light of day this season. Anyway thanks for the offer but I have looked at the instructions and this is definitely not a project for me. How much longer are you doing the Friday night meetings - does it go through September? have to get up there....
I've purchased from Gene/Patrick...Top Notch guys, top notch company!
To the OP, if you've been wanting this for years, and haven't purchased a factory kit yet, why don't you consider an aftermarket? Another forum vendor is running a thread right now on a slick looking aftermarket. Not affiliated with him, but...just sayin'

Thanks but I really want the factory kit. The only reason I have not purchased it already is because I don't want to install myself and can't find someone to install.... The guy I thought would/could do the install provides the kit but I have been unable to connect with him. The only other person I could find that could do it is down south.

Understand...just a thought. I know AZ is even farther and out of the Q.

Good luck!
From looking at JoeC's info, I gather that you are on lawng giland also...there must be people on the forum that live nearby that would help or actually do the install, but you need to make it easier for someone to find you...maybe the name of the town where you live...
