Someone pointed out to me that my reverse lights weren't working.
I ignored it for a while until, I had to backup in the driveway at night and realized I couldn't see. So off I went to Parts Authority and got the Part.
Today I had time to do the swap. I took a quick look at one of the video's to show me where it was. Put the car up on the ramps and I jumped and dived in. So I noticed the switch was right there on the left side and said this going to be easier then I thought. I proceeded to unscrew the switch and low and be hold the tranny fluid came vomiting out. About a half a quart. I took the wrong one out and put it back. I swapped out the reverse switch. I refilled it using the same hole the reverse switch was in. Was that ok? Also, I put a little teflon tape on the threads. Was that ok too?
You did'nt mention if your car has a manual or automatic transmission. I would make sure the fluid is at the proper level to be sure. If it's a manual you will have to get the car back up in the air in a level position and remove the fill plug. You then stick your pinky finger in the hole to verify the fluid is near the bottom of the fill hole. If it's an automatic you check it with the dipstick on a level surface with the engine warm. If it needs more just add some with a funnel in the same tube the dipstick came out of.
