Well all I can say is what I posted from the '08 service manual and my experience. Many years ago, while I still had the OEM GY's, I had disabled the fob buttons. I've had sensors relearned several times since then without need to enable the buttons again.
So do you mean on your car you could relearn the sensors solely by adjusting the tire pressure in the correct order? i.e. no tool needed?
No, we're talking about two different things. The fob is needed to get the car into the program mode, then the TPMS tool activates each sensor in order. For my '07, I need the fob and a TPMS tool. I would think that a TECH II could probably be used to get the car into the program mode, but I don't have any experience with a TECH II. From what I understand, it can do just about anything.
Verify the sensor part number on your receipt is 25758220.
The procedure is:
1. Put the starter switch in the ACCY position.
2. Using a scan tool, initiate the learn mode and it'll make the horn chirp.
3. Starting with the LF, hold the tool's antenna against the tire sidewall close to the valve stem and press the activate button to get a horn chirp.
4. Repeat on the RF, RR, and LR in that order.
5. After the LR is learned, a double chirp verifies you're done.
6. Turn the starter switch to the OFF position to exit the learn mode.
The two-button push on the fob, doesn't relate to your car.
I have seen a PN 17801156 for the 05 through 09. They are less expensive ($30 ea). Is this the same part or equivalent?
