No start...

No start...

Got a 2005 and lately when I hit the button..nothing,if I disconnect the battery and reconnect,I hear a click and the car will start,also before I have a no start I notice my steering wheel is not locked but after the battery disconnected and reconnected,the click I hear is most likely the steering wheel lock engaging because when I get back in to start,it's locked and it will fire up,what can I do so I don't have to do the battery deal?

Pull the battery and have it load tested. Check your alternator output. Check your grounds. Check your start wires.

Sounds like the beginning of the colum lock malfunction. Do a search on that. There is a column lock bypass that will fix it.

Both of these are very good suggestions, but start with the car's battery and charging circuit first. A weak or dying battery can manifest itself in a myriad of ways with the C6.
