debris in wiper stalk holes
maybe a rather silly question- but I keep trying to pull leaves and "pin wheels" from the holes at the base of the windshield. Many go inside and disappear. Is this going into the air inlet for the cabin? Is it easy to remove the plastic cover to clean this area?
I keep the car covered as much as I can but a garage is much needed!
thanks

The cabin air filter on base cars is right behind the battery, and air comes in from above. But isn't there a screen at the base of the windshield to keep out the big stuff?

I think I know what you are describing.
For me leaves go between the plastic cowl panel and the wiper shaft.
Best technique for me...medical tweezers.
As mentioned above any leave going into the screened area of the cowl will end up at top of the cabin filter and easily removed.
Someone may offer better guidance, yet IMO that cowl panel is not easy to remove and reinstall.

The cowl panel is actually pretty easy to remove. Pop out the windshield wiper attachment nut covers, remove the hold down nuts, pull the wiper arms off, remove the rubber seal on the front and slip the cowl out. It might tale you 10 minutes but you can do it in 5 the next time you want to remove the cowl. I have found that pine needles are also a big problem in the cowl area.

There is a black foam pre-filter available
It sits over the cowl air inlet to keep the small leaves and pinwheels out.
it helps prolong the cabin filter and is much easier clear than the inlet screen
I think I got mine at either Corvette America or Ecklers
Good Luck
