And if you press the "+" button on the HUD controls to the left of the steering, it doesn't increase the HUD's display when you have FOB 1?

HUD brightness is part of the personalization for each fob. You have it set to 0 brightness for fob 1. Just turn up the brightness and save it by pressing and holding button 1 on the door.

To elaborate a bit-
Start the car using the #1 fob, and then tap the #1 button on the door to be sure.
Then push and hold the + button on the HUD panel for 10 seconds.
If you still don't get anything, try the Mode and Page buttons to see if they change anything.

If your car has the Memory feature and none of the memory items work, perhaps fob #1 is a replacement and was simply added as #3 in the sequence instead of clearing the old one and replacing it with the new one. Pushing the #1 or #2 button on the door each time you start will allow you to bypass that issue.

In addition to brightness, it could also be the HUD display position setting is too high or low for you and you can't see it. Try raising and lowering. Once you get it where you want it, you will need to save the settings as well.

Don't keep us in suspense, what was the problem?

No matter how embarrassing, someone else has done something worse. Maybe even me.

I'm really sure what the problem was. I used the advice on the forum and held the +down for about 10 seconds and it came into view.
