Default half-sized sun visor??

I always find the sun visor to look really out of place when the targa top comes off... I was wondering if any vendor offered "half-sized" sun visors so they stick out of the top of the car less.

The S2000 that I had prior came with half-sized visors, and for my height (6'), the half sized would be more than enough for the corvette. The full size fully down means I have like an inch of view out of the windshield...

You could try folding them down and all the way forward. It works ok for me but I'm not quite 6' either. I suppose an auto interior specialist could do that for you though. Good time to get rid of those flimsy mirrors.

If you want a "half size" visor take the OEM visor to an auto upholster and have it cut down and recovered in leather. You should be OK with the remote buttons located in the visor if the size reduction is not to radical. Once the visor is apart you can better see the remote Homelink buttons attachment method which may not be too difficult to move if necessary.

I think some convertible owners just remove them.

I agree, an auto upholstery shop can cut them to any size you want and re-sew them to look stock...no big deal.

I removed mine and covered the holes with some plastic blanks. Looks wayyyyy better. Only time it bothers me is in the morning during the fall on certain roads at certain times. 99% of the season it was fine without them.

The Homelink attachment method is essentially a "one-time use" where the halves are joined at the visor and designed to never come apart. The internal components are non-serviceable and the car companies do not want warranty claims that the assembly came apart from the visor. If you attempt to separate the two halves you will either break something or the halves will not stay together as strong when you reassemble.

You are correct sir. Section the visor where the Homelink will not be involved.

Has anyone noticed that when you have the sun visor down part way to block the sun, you can't see out the back through the rear view mirror. Almost wish I could cut about three inches off the end.

Yes, I've always removed them on every convertible I ever owned. I never use my visors because I wear polarized sunglasses when I drive. You can get blanks to cover the holes.

I fold mine forward, then they don't stick out.
