Hi All. New to the forum and Corvettes in general. Just bought my first. An 05 C6. Love it. But has a button below and to the right the the steering column. Any idea what it is.

something aftermarket. Not OEM. It may of been for Mild to Wild, or similar.
Does the buttons do anything that you can notice?
Sorry for the large picture. The fan looking button is on the right(picture is rotated 90 degrees).
Tried ejection idea and did not get thrown out of car. Any other ideas?
Was just wondering if anyone recognized the buttons. I know they are not OEM but they must be for something. Dual mode exhaust might be on to something. Will have to try that. But have pushed both buttons and they don't appear to do anything. But have not known what to look for either.
My last C4 had a similar setup in the console, it was used to over ride the factory stereo to an aftermarket unit behind the passenger seat through the factory speakers. Don't know if it's the same or not, just a thought.

well.. you have to try it with her actually over there, in the seat. Most of these things are compression switch-armed..
Since the 05's did not have NPP, look to see if two inner tailpipes have an actuator with a vacuum port that opens the exhaust valve. This will tell you that your car was fitted with a dual mode exhaust and they may not be working.

If you put your location in your profile you'll probably find someone that will say, "oh, I live right by you, I can come take a look if you like."
remember to put the top down before engaging a possible ejection seat. that will save you a few bucks on a ripped top or some chiropractor fees for your passenger.

The previous owner installed something. When it came time to sell they probably removed it but didn't want to leave a hole in the dash. I expect that if you take the time to look you will find this has some wires leading out of it that have been cut. If they aren't cut they will lead to something and that is the something you are asking us to guess about.
