I have NPP exhaust with a Mild to Wild device. I have been using it with some wire rope clamps on the shafts so the butterflys can't close - they stay open about a quarter inch or so. Nice V8 sound... not annoying. I'm finding that I rarely like having them wide open - too loud. I'm now wanting to let them close all the way when "on" (minivan quiet) and then open slightly to hear the growl when I hit the "off" button.
Does anyone have an idea about what is the best way to let them open slightly, but have an adjustment as well? I thought of some stainless cable around the moving part anchored to the diaphragm bracket. Some barrel clamps with a hex screw would allow for some adjustment. Any experience with this or ideas?
I think a split collar will keep it from closing all the way, but it won't limit the opening position. I think.
My mistake, misread your post. I'm not aware of a way to limit the opening. Guess I'm not sure why you'd bother. Unless you're road racing, you won't be at sustained high rpm long.

I agree....I have the M2W switch on my NPP as well. For me....its open all the time unless doing long runs on the interstate. If I were the OP, I think just letting the NPP and the M2W do what they are designed to do is the best option....OP did not say if he has the manual or the auto. If you have the auto and let it get up into 6th with the flaps open , it can very "drony" ...I have the auto but run in sport mode nearly all the time and hardly ever use 6th. All these factors do make a difference in how it sounds.....
