I removed the knee panel to trace the harness from the accelerator peddle. Decided to remove the Vitesse throttle controller and return stock. Started the car and check engine light is off, yes I'm happy, first time it's been off in a week. Of course, I reinstalled the controller and check engine light is still off, looking good.
Just now I decided to scan...code is still there. Check engine light is still off, have not driven due to weather. Tomorrow I will make a block and if check engine light returns I will remove controller and see if that works.
Had a real problem with my car and the code described. Replaced the pedal assembly, no change. After a couple visits to my indie shop and one to Macmulkin service. Problem persisted. I decided to go after every connector in the system, and bought a terminal cleaning set from a local tool guy. I disconnected the battery, jacked the car and started cleaning terminals, beginning with ABS harnesses. Lo and behold, the worse one was the connector at the throttle body, which I discovered was not fully engaged and locked. I spent a weekend, but have not heard a chime or seen a dreaded DIC message since. I used marine electrical terminal cleaner, canned dry compressed air and light application of dielectric grease.
Good luck!
