Howdy all. I've done a search and couldn't find exactly what I'm looking for.
My 07 C6 has been modded to include a full leather interior (dash, door panels, etc) and is covered by Allstate along with our two other cars to include my daily driver. We have an additional equipment rider on the Vette. I don't drive the car all that much; since new it has 28K miles.
I'm looking for auto insurance that would be less expensive than Allstate but would still cover the additional equipment - an "agreed value" package. I actually signed up for the NCM insurance, but just prior to canceling our Allstate Vette insurance I found out that the NCM would be for "part time driving" only meaning only for car meets/shows and the "occasional trip", and that were I to want to take it to, say, Wally World to run errands locally I would not be covered! I actually called the NCM to verify this, and they were emphatic that their policy was for only "part time driving" and not for local errands or such. Sorry, but I can't cotton to an insurance company telling me when and/or where I can or cannot drive my car.
Bummer.
Can someone recommend an insurance company that would:
1 Allow for unrestricted, albeit low annual miles,
2 Allow agreed value (I have no idea how they'd come up with their figure, but I'd want more than standard KBB replacement value due to the installed equipment,
3 Allow a full collision/liability/comprehensive package,
4 Have a good reputation.
If it makes a difference, I'm age 60+, clean record.
I am technically still a producer for American National. They aren't a huge company but they deliver a great product. Since you're in another state I can't help you directly, but based on my personal experience, I was normally able to double coverage while also saving them lots of cash. Definitely worth looking into. Good bundle discounts as well as cash back. Actual cash back.
Edit: full disclosure. I sold myself my first policy. It happened to be roughly half of what I was getting through USAA. Their rates are crappy if you live in a city, but suburban rates are some of, if not THE, best rates.

Find a General Insurance Agency that represents many insurance companys. Coverage and prices vary widely, more than you can imagine. Get an experienced agent and explain what you need and I bet they can get you a really good deal. Worked for me.
I have never hear of coverage of additional equipment. I have Allstate for all 3 of my cars....10"GS and 2- 2014 Cadillac ATS4's. Pay $1600 a year full coverage for all 3. Why so **** about "additional equipment"? Simply call around for your best rate.
Not sure about Hagerty, but last time I got a quote they had similar restrictions as NCM. Maybe they don't enforce them as much, but it was a part time pleasure vehicle without use to places like store/movies/homedepot.

Because if you have $5k-50k in additional equipment, you don't want to lose all of that in case of theft/fire/wreck. It is very wise to cover everything.

I know that for myself, the "additional equipment" would cost $10k+ to replace that the insurance company would not pay for unless I have specific coverage that will pay for the extras.
I don't know if it is available in your area but I have all of my cars insured with American Family Insurance. My wife's 69 Camaro SS has agreed value for $45,000.00. I had to get it appraised by a classic car appraiser and submit it to them. Full coverage and no limits on mileage. We are both over 60 also.

Thanks for the opportunity, Mike!
All collector vehicle insurance offerings have very similar restrictions. Don't believe when anyone says "X company doesn't have restrictions!" Part of the reason why the premiums are super affordable and the agreed value is due to the usage.
It sounds like Standard Auto Insurance is best option for you and your situation.
Forget about USAA. If you drive it less than 6,000 miles a year, look into getting insurance through the Corvette Museum. I'm paying half of what USAA wanted to rape me for.
I will look into the museum ins. for the upcoming season. Thanx for the info.
I just gave them a buzz. You cant use the vehicle as a DD ( for work and errands if you have that insurance.) The best package they offer is a 9-5 package where you can drive the car to work 2 days a week.
I'm trying to get additional coverage for my rims and leather interior... what a PITA. USAA offers it in every state, but NJ.
Hagerty has handled at least a half dozen autos for me. You tell them about how many miles you expect to drive per year, you agree on value, and select whether you want Flat Bed Towing service. In Michigan , if you put a classic vehicle plate on it, insurance is about $150 less per year, but you are only supposed to drive it to car shows, parades and to the shop. Screw that!
I had one claim for an under hood fire on a restored 1957 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 Limo. Paid within a week, with no grief. I always select the zero deductible. Want to go to performance driving training and other tracks events? They offer those specific riders as well.

No problem with us. Just no coverage the moment the car is in the pits and track.
That was expected. Just wanted to make sure the 60 mile trip to the airport for 1/2 mile would be covered. I wouldn't expect anything in the pits/race to be covered.
Hagerty works for me. $600.00 per year. Unlimited mileage and agreed value and you can even add a clause if your car is kept outside. Grundy insurance is known as Grumpy around my circles. They are known to have unreasonable restrictions and refusal to pay claims.
