it takes all of 5 min to do, like others said pop of the clip and it comes right off. i learned on one of our cold snaps that i need to do my rears here soon
Manually prop up hood or have someone hold up the hood. Use small flat head screw driver to pop the clip off both sides, pull the strut off the ball, push the new ones on and you are good to go. I used these on my 2006 Base, they fit and function perfectly.
Just put the fleabay ones on mine last weekend, fit fine and lift the hood fully from the halfway point now. Hard to beat a set for $15, but I cannot yet attest to their longevity. The OEM ones lasted from 2008 till now but the hood started to fall on my head once too often.

Same here up to now. Mine still hold but sometimes they do fall but it will only get worse as time goes by on my 2005.
I'm going to have to purchase a pair of these as well. Are there any good aftermarket options that offer cool features or just stick with a standard brand for cheap? I understand they are just hood struts but figured I would ask haha
You do NOT have to pop off the C spring. Just use a small screw driver at the back of the spring, put a little tension on it and the arm and spring come off in place without the spring flying across the room.
If you're doing this yourself, Don't remove the first old one without having the first new one ready, in reach to replace as the hood will not stay in the opened position with only one old strut. New ones I bought have grease in the sockets. If your new ones are dry it is good practice to put a dot of grease into the socket before assembly and wipe clean the old grease off the mate.
Just did mine too purchased from Rock Auto. $10 something each.
Bought my replacement from Amazon a while ago and it was made in Germany, only changed the one of the two that had gone, still have the original on the other one, 2007 here...and yes, it is a two minute job, snap out the old one (can't remember if you need a screwdriver to help) and snap in the new one
