I am trying to program my extra key fob and went directly by the directions and no go. I get no beep or DIC notification to program key fob. All of the instructions I have seen, say to turn the key 5 times, but don't say which direction. I have done it both ways and nothing. Any help would be appreciated!
Okay guys, I want to thank you all and here is what I did:
1. I opened the driver's door, so the alarm would not sound.
2. Went to the back of the car and opened the hatch with key and turned the key five times to my right and the DIC came on to program fob.
3. I did put it in reverse and not sure if that helped.
One other note, having not read the "directions" the guys on linked here, if you are replacing a lost or damaged FOB, say #2 for example, you will now have a FOB #1, and a FOB #3, which may not be an issue for you, but that is the same situation I was in, and with the memory recall, i was not satisfied with it that way, so I cleared and reprogrammed both FOBs. Now I once again have a FOB #1, and a FOB #2. Life is good once again!
There are actually 3 different sets of instructions in that linked website I posted. 1 set to check the slot in the glove box, 1 to add a new fob to the existing fobs and that new fob becomes the next fob number, 1 to reprogram all fobs beginning with fob #1. All 3 sets of instructions are in that one file, you just take a different route through the instructions.
Note that only fobs programmed as fob #1 and fob #2 will have access to the memory options, mirror adjustment, driver's seat position, auto car locking, etc.
There is also the possibility that the car already had four fobs programmed. If this is the case, then you will need to do the long programming to get a new #1 and #2.
