Best tires for street racing
Can anyone recommend the best for street racing? I have a 2011 GS Coupe with a ARH headers and a .660 Cam. I would like street racing tires that hug the road. I tried nankooks on the front and my car doesn'
t feel the same(doesn't hug the road when punching the gas hard from 0) so I plan on getting rid of those.
I think it's between ( I need front and back )
Michellin SS
ToyoR888
Hankooks
Any advice? Not a fan of run flats either.

I assume by "hug the road" that you want something that can also corner well? If so, the R888s are the best option on your list.
If not worried about cornering, MT ET Street SS or NT05Rs will give much better straight line traction.

why not get a set of track wheels and tires before you end up being ridiculed for wrecking your car on the street or worse?

Not to mention street racing uses about 50% of the capability of the car while putting 100% of an unsuspecting public at risk.
Go drive on a real race track and prepare to be humbled while having way more fun.

Street category racing drag strip event, or street racing like fast and furious?
nankooks? I've heard of nankang, and hankook perhaps I'll have to look up these nankooks.
I'd be using R888 if you want all around grip.

Stupid and dangerous and could be costly.
Jail time for manslaughter.
Why take the risk.
Maybe the op lives in a rural area where it is more safe, if that is even possible.

NT05R 345/30-19 is only .4 taller. Can be a little sketchy in the rain from what I have read. I will be trying the nt05r this summer on my base so I can get better traction if the need arises.

I've ran Mickey ET SS's on the street. They work very well in a wide range of temperatures. The car can get a little unsettling at speed though and I've heard that's a side effect of these particular tires.

I run the NT01 on the street now with great success. I use to run RE-11 tires and was happy too but much better times with NT01 tires. I would like to compare/try the R888 but have not done so.
(We have closed off areas with cones in industrial areas for short AutoX type events) AKA street racing for me.

I hear Discount Tires is running a sale on street racing tires. They come with a list of phone numbers to: bail bondsmen, lawyers, funeral homes, and cemeteries, etc. Wreck in a street race and you'll probably find your insurance will not cover you. Check your policy. If you need a boner that bad, use Viagra.
