How do you remove the C6 center caps on the wheels?
Hello, When I had new tires installed on my C6, I noticed that the wheel center cap flags are not correct. The point of the "flag" is supposed to point at the valve stem.
Mine are the 2007 chrome factory wheels
I want to correct this, so do I have to remove the lug nuts to remove and center the cap? Or, how do I remove and center the caps?
Sorry guys, just my OCD kicking this today!

I use gorilla tape or any strong tape. Pinch the center of the tape together, then apply to center cap, then grab the pinched part with plyers and jank.

I have a different center cap than the one in your photo. Mine is almost like a five point star etc.? It is the stock factory wheel.

The wheel pictured is the stock chrome grand sport wheel.
Same procedure should work on your center cap. I believe they just get pushed into place and need to get popped out. Using the tape helps to make sure nothing gets scratched.

Thanks to all that replied, I got them off with a nylon trim tool. They popped right off, and I have centered the caps. Life is good now.

I heard of a guy who would jack his car up at shows and rotate the tires so the white letters were all aligned. I thought that was pretty OCD, but the direction of the tips of the Corvette flags relative to the valve stem would have never crossed my mind in a million years. Seek help.

You can also wrap dental floss around (and under the caps) to pop them off.
Easy peasy!

When I "rotated" the tires side-to-side I took the opportunity to correctly orient the center caps. Over the following months, the caps would rotate on their own and end up out of position - so I no longer bother.

I had a 2007 with the OEM painted wheels and this is what I used. It's a paint can opener.
You carefully insert it in the lug opening and catch the back of the cap and pull forward.
Sorry, didn't realize you got them off.

With the 6 pointed ones I just grab a point with my fingers and pull it off. And, yes, the arrow is supposed to point to the valve stem unless you really don't care how your car looks.
