The Wife's 08 C6, she tells me sometimes when she breaks it makes a funny noise and the dash said service ABS. I can't can't get it to do it for me. Also my code reader said ignition on car not running, it's running or accessory, if there was codes I might of cleared them trying to get it to connect. Is there a spot that you have ignition on without car running? Any thoughts?

Did you actually get it on a sandy road and engage the ABS? It should make a noise and the lights may flash showing ABS engagement.

So I drove it today and turning into a parking lot the yellow traction control and yellow ABS light came on . In the little window it said Service Traction System then it went to Service Active Handling System. Then to Service Anti Lock Brakes. I was going very slow so I didn't hear the noise the wife describes. When I shut the car off and restarted the lights went out. I hooked my code reader up to it and it said no zero codes. I guess I'll start checking for loose wires. Probably start at right rear wheel because I changed the wheel bearing a year ago. Maybe I didn't get the sensor wire plugged back in good. Also we've had a lot of rain here. I'll keep you updated on my progress.

What code reader are you using? Most low-end readers can't see the EBCM and won't show ABS codes.

This sounds like a weak battery issue. All of these typically trigger when the battery voltage becomes too low.

This has happened to me when I make a "U" turn that is rather tight. Computer senses one wheel turning faster than the other, therefore a "skid" problem. No codes appear since there is really no electrical problem...just a configuration that the car doesn't like. Drive for a mile or two to "stabilize" the situation, shut the engine off, restart engine and all panel lights will extinguish...good to go ('til the next tight turn )
My 2011 C6 Just started doing this when the rear TPMS Sensors go to XX. Does the TPMS affect the ABS, Active Handling? I started a Thread on this today it is driving me crazy.

I've had the same issue. It turned out to be the steering position sensor was bad. Dealer replaced it over 170,000 miles ago. No further problems.
Yes, I have over 200,000 miles on the beast
I had this happen today, the second day in torrential rain and it first happened when I hit a bump. It would turn off each time I stopped for a break but came on again after 30-40 miles in the same heavy rain. Of course, I am far from home and decided not to bring my reader which includes ABS codes. Of course, far from home I have little chance to get it into service.
