Brake Caliper Painting - Brackets too?

Brake Caliper Painting - Brackets too?
I am painting my brake calipers this weekend using the G2 paint. The assembly will be off the car, which should make both the cleaning and painting a bit easier. My question is with respect to the brackets. Do folks generally paint those too (front and rear) or just the calipers.
I know it may be a matter of taste but I'd like to hear some input.
Thanks!

I've seen it both ways. I didn't paint the brackets but some do.

Brackets
Yes. It will look a lot better with the brackets painted. Do NOT forget to use the proper Color Loctite for brackets and calipers. 1 takes red and the other takes blue and torque accordingly.

both while off the car will complete the properly finished look of the colored brake components............... and Loctite and bolt torques are critical and required............
post pictures once you have them done! G2 is fairly easy to use, with typically great results........

Both. I did mine with POR-15 and brushed it on without removing them from the car. Used black POR-15 on the rotor top-hats as well. REALLY cleaned it up.

Paint the brackets. When doing the letters use #220 sand paper on a paint stick or something flat and sand off the paint. It also polishes the letters to a nice bright aluminum in contrast to the painted caliper.

Thanks for all the responses. One follow up question/thought. What are your opinions regarding doing the brackets in black, and the calipers in the principle color (in this case yellow)?

All one color. Brackets in black looks cheap and will make the calipers look small...my opinion.

It looks more complete with the brackets painted. I wanted blue ones to go with my silver and gunmetal grey exterior. Used Chevrolet blue engine paint to get the job done. Used lots of Dawn soap and a toothbrush to scrub the grime off the surface. Sanded with 220 paper and scotch brite pad. Cleaned again and masked off surfaces. Turned out great.

I jsust did this useing the high heat caliper paint avail at zutozone...did it with the calipers on the car, just some easy masking. I sanded the front of the calipers after cleaning thoroghly with laquer thinner...then used thin coats of red, applied new decals and then followed up with their high heat clear...looks awesome.
I have used this method before on other cars and has held up well
The decals are easy to use, better looking than stock and avaiable from this guy Shawn Ellis <fourthodesigns@aol.com> for 14 bucks.
One more tip....you can use pennies to mask the bolt holes...I just put some goey double stick clay on the back to hold them one while I
painted.
