Hello Members,

On my 2007 C6 Coupe L2 with 38 k miles. I got the engine warning light today. When I went to put gas I noticed that the cap was lose. So after I put gas I install it correctly but when I started the car again the light was still there. Question, where do you connect the OBDII and second question, once the OBDII is connected and supposedly there is no other issues, how do you reset the engine warning light?

In my other cars, when this would happen with a loose gas cap, it would usually take a little while to clear. If you are sure that was the problem, loose gas cap, just drive it for a bit and it should clear on it's own.

Disconect the neg battery cable for about 10 seconds and see what happens.

I agree with TorchRedFred. If the gas cap was the problem, then the light should clear on its own after so many start cycles.

The connector is directly below the steering column. You can use the code reader to clear the code but it won't pass a safety inspection until it has been driven for a while and the ready code is set you Y. Just driving for the necessary time will clear the initial code and make it ready for an inspection.
