This Z06 is not a garage queen, it just looks like it. It is driven and the Z06 package is put to use. I've been in it and will remember that ride. She pulls just as good as she looks.

I have a lift and would let anyone near me the use of it to do the chore. Who knows you may have a neighbor near you that will do the same. It would save you time and effort.

I've driven 12k miles in the first year I've owned my 08 vert show car. It's always pristine, but then I've managed to put all those miles on the car without getting caught in the rain.

Clean does not mean not driven.

For the 6 years that I have been a member here on the Corvette Forum, I don't think I have seen a photo that makes me more envious than the photo below!

The deal is ... I don't have a car lift installed in my garage, so my car's underside will NEVER look anything close to that!

Oh well ....

Haters gonna hate Ed For me I am impressed and not ashamed to say it. Plus if a guy is prone to waxing or cleaning so be it, so what, its his car right and if he wants it to sit on a pedestal then fine with me
NSF PS I wish my underside looked like LMB-Z

I'm sure mine never looked like that when I took delivery. Even though it was an ordered car, the odometer was at 9 miles when I picked it up.

Thanks NSF. It's a lot of effort, but it pays off.

Its a tough line to drive or not to drive. I mean after you've spent the time and money to really detail a car its a hard call to drive it unless conditions are in favor. I'm pretty selective and mine isn't really show ready, close but not for a real inspection. Still I don't go thru water on the road, follow closely, drive in inclement weather and such.
But when I do I'm the proudest guy on the road And I do drive it!!

Agree.

Mine is just a toy, something to drive in nice weather. I have a truck for otherwise. The concept is not hard for most people to grasp.

Okay, HF and WallyWorld sell good jack stands for about $20 per pair. You can hardly buy good chemicals to clean and wax your car for that. Get 4 and be safe.

There is no part of your car that is more durable, or takes more of a beating, than the undercarriage. I would have no qualms at all about using a PW, as long as you do not keep the wand in one spot, and always shoot at an angle, never straight on. Get the jack stands...spray the undercarriage with 409, Simple Green, whatever you use for general cleaning...let it sit a few minutes...spray it off...air dry with your air compressor, reversed vacuum, leaf blower, or whatever. If you are really nutty about it, get under there with spray cleaner and scrub it down. It will look so much better.

Or....just drive through a large, clean puddle, as was stated earlier.

But.....GET THE JACK STANDS!!!

Go pop for the paltry twenty buck or so and use car stands. Using a floor jack to get under a car is suicidal. Jacks are made to lift the car, not support it. Even when I was an indestructible kid I was smart enough to use concrete blocks topped with 2x4s.
