KBB isnt a bad place to start dont pay NADA
if you ball up the car ins will go by KBB finding that one out the hard way now. Tons of these cars out there so dont pay for that "rare" bs you see in so many vette ads.
45k miles is nothing for a 8-9 year old car but on a Vette it is not really low mileage. Definitely look at tires as that is a big expense if needed. Some good deals on the C6 for sale forum but also some dreaming also. There is a reason why some of the cars just sit without a buyer.
Be careful about posting the actual car/price on this forum. A lot of people will give you an honest opinion with it, some will go grab the car for themselves. When I bought my 13 GS thru a dealer swap, the dealer mentioned that someone from CA came up to buy the car stating what he saw on my post on Corvette Forum. Car was already sold since my local dealer arranged a swap.
I get your point - all I know at this point is what I've seen in online pics and brief conversation with the owner. I'm still in the process of assessing the car's options and condition but need a place to start. KBB gives me a number of about $27K. NADA has it at about $28K but I know there can be "circumstances" that will push a Corvette's value up beyond those benchmarks.
For the sake of this conversation, I'm hoping that the Forum can recommend what would be a reasonable offer for an '08 3LT convertible in very good condition with about 45,000 miles on it? Once I have that information I can make some better decisions when I see the vehicle in person and assess normal wear and tear.
Thanks.
Depending on condition, I'd say about $25-26k unless it has the Z51 option. As a comparison, I paid $31k for an extremely clean '08 3LT vert with 28.5k miles with the Z51 option and OEM Nav.
I have bought and sold around 25 vettes over the years and for the last few years I have used edmunds.com for value when buying or selling. If buying i base my offer on the trade in value and never pay higher than private party value.
KBB is owned by autotrader and they tend to have higher than they should be values, same thing with NADA which is owned by the auto dealers assn. You will always see ads from dealers bragging how their car is priced thousands under KBB,
If the car needs tires or other repairs deduct that cost from the values and if it is modded in any way deduct the cost to restore the car back to stock. Modded cars are much harder to resell and bring lower prices.

Phil, that is a great comment. About a year ago, I asked someone on here to go check out a car for me. They agreed to look at it on the next Tuesday morning. I never heard back from them, so I called the dealer to ask about the car. He told me "a fella came in Tuesday morning and bought it". A little too coincidental for me...
I know you have all been here / done this before but I am new to the forum and am looking at an '08 convertible. This is my first Corvette. Not sure if it has 3LT or 4LT trim but trying to figure out a reasonable offer on this vehicle. I think it is a 4LT as it has a two-tone interior. It has under 50K miles on it, manual tranny. Car appears to be in good condition. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I bought a 2008 Convertible 8 Months ago. The seller was asking $27,500 for it. This was a Dealer so I worked a trade with Him for my 2003 Anniversary model. My car had 52,000 miles on it and is loaded with power top, Z51, NPP, NAV, 2 tone interior, it is a 3LT car and it was also a GM pilot vehicle with a serial number of 000006! $26K or even $27K is not too much if the car is what you want! As is the case for my car, it is now 10 years old "build date 4-2007, if it looks as though it has been taken care of an it passes a CARFAX, go for it!
On a CARFAX note, after GM sold the car the trail got a little foggy so CARFAX is not the complete story! This is my second C6 and it is fun to drive even at 10 years old!
