Ok all you smarter then me people, I need to know if the factory 19 rim off of a 2005 base will fit on the front?
Not a good idea, Rear rims are 1 inch larger than fronts, not to mention much wider, turn radius will be ****, and you'd have to change both front's not just 1, Do not attempt
I need to know if it will work, I want to have the same size rims front and rear, I hate having 2 different sizes, so yes there will be a tire on it, I want to be able to drive it. I don't think the rim being 1 inch bigger will matter, but it's 1.5 inches wider. Has anyone done this...

I'm guessing you'd hate having two different size tires too and that would create a definite problem with the electronics, no matter what size they were.
I was trying to do the same thing with some factory wheels except have a wheel shop make the wheel 1.5" narrower. None of the shops I called would do it. They said they could make the wheels wider but not narrower which didn't make any sense to me.
your tire height ratios will be way off...you will have the nannies going nuts. You will also have a different geometry in your suspension, which could pose a safety issue.

Other than that, no problem.
All you need is lower profile tires if you run 19" wheels in the front. The problem is the width of the wheel.
The original front to rear tire diameter ratio was 1 to 1.046.
The known assured limits are between 1 to 1.023 (bald rear with new front) and 1 to 1.072 (new rear with bald front).
Using anything outside those limits is at your own risk.

Well, duh. The problem of running 19" wheels in front is getting the right tires. I figured it was understood that they would have to be shorter, hence, wider, hence basically not doable. I should have stated so.
I suppose it is possible to do it, but jumping through so many hoops to solve a problem that has not been encountered by one in one thousand Corvette owners is a bit extreme, IMO.
Wellllll...now you have front and rear tires that are the exact same diameter..26.7". Your car is programmed to have a tire that is .046% taller than the front, or in this case, 27.9".
