Default ZR1 Spoiler recommendation

Where's the best place to buy a ZR1 style spoiler? I want one that integrates the stock third brake light into it. Bought one through another vendor that sources from DAR spoilers, I really didn't like it and returned it...

Going onto a black C6Z.

RPI has the reproduction ones..Some have had issues though...Others success

Factory OEM is the way to go but a bit pricey...no fitment issues from what others say

Best to go with OEM from a forum vendor like CULTRAG (Gene) if you want one that is the same size as the one that actually comes on a ZR1. You can go with an aftermarket one(cheaper) but I have heard of many that have a problem with the very thin strip that is under the center brake light (fit/finish is usually not as good).

I spent a little more because I wanted something like the ZR1 spoiler but a little bigger. Mine is made by SS Vettes. Supervettes sells the exact same one as well.

There are some aftermarket ZR1 Extreme spoilers (also bigger/taller than OEM size) that look good.

I installed a reproduction from RPI, color match was perfect and no issues with installing it.

Why wasn't it returnable?

Gorgeous car, well done! Love that Cyber Grey and polished wheel combo.

And is the spoiler on Supervettes the ZRX6? All I see on SS Vettes is the Extreme spoiler as well, same one you have?

Thanks!

Yes,

ZR6X on Supervettes. http://www.supervettes.com/zr6x-extr...r-spoiler.html

ZR1 Extreme on SS Vettes. http://ss-vette.com/product/c6-corve...e-rear-spoiler

Theses are the same spoilers made by the same guy (Don of SS Vettes).

There's also the ZR1 Extended from C7 Carbon. Mine was a perfect fit right out of the box.

Go with OEM. You get what you pay for. Others can be hit and miss.

Check with Katech as they did a lot of wind tunnel testing when developing their spoilers and splitters. They did not design theirs based on what looked good without regards to functionality.

I have the C7 Carbon extended spoiler. Mine did not fit correctly out of the box and took a lot of fitment to get it right.

Anyone know if the ZR1 posts line up with the GM racing posts? I wouldn't mind swapping to a ZR1 spoiler if they did. If not, I'm not going to drill more holes.

Take a few minutes and read their return policy
I was told, in writing by Josh, that I could return it - however no RMA number was issued.
That "contract" is not valid and does not supersede what they have as their written terms and conditions.
Their loophole is to drag their feet and not issue the rma, when you ship it back without the rma product is refused. By then you are outside the terms and conditions to return. So it becomes unreturnable.
I encourage everyone to read the terms and conditions of sale and return before buying from any vendor. Couple that with a search through the transaction feedback area of the corvette forum and educate yourself on the vendor you are considering.

All products and orders must be returned to RPI Designs within 10 days of the receipt of product with an RMA number. You must contact us to obtain an RMA number before returning an products or orders. Refund will be given in full less actual shipping costs, less 10% restocking fee. If defect in an item, RPI Designs will replace at no cost, or send a complete refund less shipping, item defects must be explained and shown to RPI Designs prior to installation
Custom painted parts - Once these parts are started, we can refund you less the paint(chemicals) that have been used. Exception is rear spoilers and front splitters, we can refund less 20%.

Nice car. What wheels are those? And is your spoiler smaller than the zr1 extended version out there or same?

$170 ZR1 style rear spoiler from Extreme Online Store that came in black lightly textured ABS plastic ... I had it hydrocarbon dipped prior to installing it. Perfect fit right out of the box.

It looks like they also sell this same spoiler that is hydrocarbon dipped from the factory for $270

If this is true, then we should boycott this vendor. Crappy way to do business......if it is true.

I'm a fan of the GM Racing Spoiler aka Ron Fellows Spoiler......
versus the ZR1 spoiler.....

I was lucky enough to find a factory painted one on EBAY

Not sure if the repop version fit but factory one was perfect
Used 3M body molding tape at the ends....
