Anyone ever toyed with the possibility putting a Supercharger on your C-6? I was looking at the new 2017 GS this morning at the dealership with a sticker price of $85,000. Then i'm thinking, why not just put a Supercharger on my GS CE instead of headers and a tune. Any idea the price to have it done? I know COW in Westchester, NY installs them, but I thought I would check here first.
Yes, tons of people have superchargers on their c5 or c6 vettes. The A&A and ECS kits are typically the most popular and most bang for the buck. I've run an ECS kit on my car for the past 6 years now, and it has been amazing.
I can see an upgraded exhaust (solong as it was quality stainless that was really "quality")..... I don't think I'd want the headaches with a blower and all that.
No, I am not big on aftermarket stuff. Although when my balancer goes out, I am convinced here not to go with GM. OK, if you get a blower, upgrade HB.

Only thinking about it, the reason i'm asking for opinions.

I've had my Edelbrock 599 kit for about 3 years now.
Here is my take:
If your car is "not" a daily driver and you don't plan on selling the car anytime in the near future .... I say go for it
Just keep in mind:
A lot of car dealers and private buyers wont touch a modified car (if/when you sell).
A supercharger will add additional stress to the motor and other driveline parts ....so "I" wouldn't do it to a car that I plan on putting a lot of miles on (i.e. daily driver) ...but... this is just "my" opinion

That was the one issue I was concerned about, stress on the motor. Thanks for you're honest response.

BTW - I wasn't trying to talk you out of doing it .... I have had zero issues with my Edelbrock supercharger and it is a really fun car to drive with the supercharger ... but .... I have also only put on about 10K miles on the car in the last 3 years... so for me ... its just a weekend toy
The way I see it:
No one "needs" a supercharger ....but then again ... no one "needs" a Corvette either

The LS3 is almost bullet proof. Callaway superchargers their cars to more than an Edelbrock would. Well over 600 HP. Their latest 'shop' car went over 200,000 miles and still going strong.
If it's installed right and normal maintenance is done, I wouldn't worry about stressing the engine.
Installed the EForce on my 2007 coupe in the spring of 2012. Put 40,000 miles on the car over the next 4 years without any issues. A lot of drag racing and road racing each summer and never an engine issue. Maintain the car properly and you will be fine. My car made 475 HP and 465 torque at the wheels with a moderate tune. I pushed the car hard and had a blast with it. Traded it in this past fall at a Chevy dealer and got top dollar for it and moved into a 2013 Grand Sport which is a great car. Will be putting a blower on it this winter. If you want the power go for it. Good luck!!
Speaking of cooling issues, I heard the Edelbrock was one of the best.
To add, by cooling, combined with the hood clearances, if you look for improved air flow to assist with such issues as heat soak, (which a lot of SCed owners do), the E-Force is different in its proximity to the hood than the centrifugal units and its options with hood ventilation.
Secondly, since it produces the least added HP at the most expensive cost, as a matter of physics, it will be one of the better options in terms of ECTs.
An additional issue is versatility. The E-force will be different in options to vary hp compared to a centrifugal option.
In the end, you might choose the E-Force option, but All worth exploring before spending the money.
Agreed with blindspot. If money is no concern, and you want a modest power bump, eforce is a decent option. If you want best bang for the buck, A&A/ECS will make more power, at significantly less cost. Another great option to look at is the heartbeat blowers. Better performance then the eforce, but cost is up there too.
I am partial the procharger design but no way would I put a blower on my car. I wouldn't even have a ZL1 for a daily driver (I've ridden in one and it's an awesome machine). But a blower for a street car? Only a toy.
