Default Connecting hatch unlock to the window vent feature?

Hi all, the pre-08 corvettes don't have the hatch motor which makes it very annoying to close the hatch with the windows up. I'd like to find a way to connect the hatch to the windows, so when I open the hatch, it cracks the window down as if I opened the door. Has anyone attempted this? Where can I find the wiring diagrams for an 07 so I can attempt this ?

Unless the OP has a ZO6, as he didn't mention which model he has.
I understand that it was finally available starting for 2009 model years.

In that case you could get a window valet and use the fob to index the windows down. Hit lock button 3x and both windows will index down.

My '05' has the hatch motor pull-down and it has always worked great.

According to the Corvette Black Book, 2005-2006-20007-2008, etc up to and including 2013, all Coupes , GS Z06 and ZR1 have the power hatch release with the power pull down motor as standard option.
The only thing that dissappeared in the later coupe style models was the grab handle on the inside hatch to help pull down the hatch.
I have a 2006 coupe with power hatch release, power pull down motor and the hatch handle.

I think you hit on something there. The OP is misunderstanding something he read. I do remember something about doing away with the pull-down handle because some idiot broke his hand by holding on too long.

If my 07 Z06 has it, it must be broke then. I will check mine out tomorrow and see. I have the power release on the fob and inside though

Did you check the 15A fuse, the connector wires, and/or the ground wire at the pull down actuator?

Here is the circuit diagram and the 2 fuses associated with it.
Maybe the schematic will help you troubleshoot the issue.
Good Luck

If you do a search here you'll find it was not included on Z06 until 09.

The z06 did not have the hatch pull down motor until '09, and believe me it is a major PITA having to close the hatch, then practically jump on it to get it to close fully.

It would be awesome if I could somehow wire the hatch to the door mechanism so my windows would crack when the hatch is open, then close after I close the hatch.

It's all controlled by the BCM. I don't see how that could be done.

I just looked at the Corvette Black book again, and you are correct. The coupe was the only model with the power pull down from 2005-2013.
The Z06 and ZR1 was introduced to the power pull down in 2009.
The way I read it, it had the Z06 and coupe about the frontal air bag, then it stated only the coupe for the motor pull down.
My mistake.
Here is a copy of the 2008 page and the 2009 page.

My Gosh. Just walk around and crack the door open, then close the hatch. It's only about six steps, round trip!.

Shouldn't there be some signal wire to the BCM that I could tap the hatch lights to for example? What triggers the BCM to crack the windows when the door opens?

Are there any wiring diagrams available online?

The door switches activate the windows. Maybe LV2TOUR has the schematic.
