Thanks again for adding me to the list. Has anyone added a bluetooth adaptor system to their Bose? I've become so use to bluetooth in my daily driver I would like to add it to the C6. The onstar people want 50c a minute for hands free. I would rather add an adaptor but would like some recomendations from those that have done it and their experience with it so far.

I haven't done it yet but am checking all angles before I take the plunge. OnStar is a rip off cost wise especially if your Vette is a garage queen or weekend fun car since you still need your own cell phone when not in the car. Shortly after acquiring our 2007 last year I went to activate the OnStar and found out that the existing OnStar module had to be replaced since it wasn't compatible with the new 4G cellular networks, an expense of about $350 that had to be done by a dealer. If you go that route then you still have to deal with the exorbitant rates that OnStar charges for their service and cellular air time.
One of the BlueTooth devices I looked into was the BlueStar2 by Costar. It replaces the existing OnStar module and integrates the BlueTooth with the factory NAV or stereo and steering wheel or Mirror Head buttons with hands free calling linking it to your own cell phones.
Another device I've heard of hooks up with the XM Satellite radio module if so equipped and provides BlueTooth connectivity by that route.
Lastly there is a device called NAVtool that provides mirroring of your cell phone with your factory NAV system.
These devices all have benefits as well as drawbacks and that is why I haven't taken the plunge yet. I want to make the choice that offers the most functionality and practicality when I do.
I have the iSimple and works great, but the Bluestar2 looks really neat and easy to install, maybe someone will chime in that has it installed to let us know how it works.

On my 2013, 427 vert, in the console there is a USB port and jack which is the Aux. in my media player. I simply plug in a patch cord from my phone
And I can play music or anything audio.

Thank you unfortunately the earlier C6's didn't have the usb port. I'm really looking for a hands free solution for phone use and to link my iphone for music.
the costar blue star is the closest thing to the factory bluetooth it works well ... just like the factory unit you will make and receive calls thru your factory speakers and microphone. it's expensive but it beats all the others hands down

but to answer a call or answer a call you need to switch to the radio station ....its not automatic ..... and in the city you get a lot of interference using a FM modulator
I am really spoiled with the seem less integration of blue tooth in my other cars , so much so I installed factory Bluetooth in my C6 .
I had a costar unit before the conversion and loved it
while the costar is expensive it really is seamless .... answer the call radio goes off and switches to phone, hang up radio comes back ... you also can place a call using your phone's voice command
The only thing that did not work was the hang up button on my steering wheel , I could answer the phone using the steering wheel but could not end it , had to use the mirror button or my phone to hang up
I first had the fm transmitter for while, it streamed music pretty well, but I later had the iSimple ISGM655 installed and couldn't be happier, stream music through my ipod and also have my android synced up to make or receive calls, music fades in and out when I have calls coming in.
This is what I had, still use it in my other non Bluetooth car.
I have iSimple Tranzit-BLU HF in my 911, cost <$100, hooks into the antenna line (or aux-in, if the radio has one), no interference at all. Streams music and GPS too, and can use Siri for voice activation.
My Vette came with a JVC head with BT and A2DP. Tbh those can be had very cheaply now that carplay is the latest thing, so if you're not averse to changing out the stock radio that's something you may want to consider.
Thanks to all for your input I'll be looking into all the options excepting a cigarette lighter
option. Tried that and they suck not to mention a waste of $

I installed the I simple on my '05. Works great and it gives you a USB port to plug into. I just use a thumb drive and play all of my music from that.
The blue tooth works great. You just have to learn which buttons do what. I have the Nav screen, so all my radio buttons are on that screen. They don't become "marked" when you are using the blue tooth. You just have to know which one does what. Takes a little getting used to, but once you do, its pretty easy to use. I have pictures posted somewhere on here.

I tried the bluestar but would not connect correctly. The fellow who sells these is a part time computer guy who has no real tech support. Unless he's gone full time

I had the costar and it worked perfectly ... closest thing to factory bluetooth . Was your phone on the supported list ?
If you have an aux in jack, you can go bluetooth with a $5 dongle from walmart. Just plug it into jack, pair it and you're done. Works perfectly on my 10 base.
I just picked up a Bluestar II from a forum member on here for $140 - works fine for me. Streaming through another BT adapter to FM channel. Not the greatest sound quality but it works. Didn't want to replace factory Nav unit.
