I want to highly recommend the Corvette museum web site to any of you who have not explored it yet. It is truly awesome! If you can't get to Bowling Green, this is the next best thing. The really amazing thing is that they have live cameras covering the whole place inside and out. Seeing all the cars is wonderful, but I also really enjoyed viewing all the people and their reactions to the cars (especially the children).
I go to their website at least once a week even if only for a minute or two. I am a museum member and the wife and I attend at least one event at the museum annually. We will be there for Vets n Vettes in November. Many of the displays do not change but there is one large room where the cars are on special short term display and they are not all Corvettes. The museum plans themed displays such as muscle cars, orphan cars, etc... We walk through every time we go. It never gets old.
I have been to the museum and witness a museum pickup and talked to the people that were there to get their new Corvette. The web site is great and give you that feeling of being there when you check out the different cameras. I also highly recommend that if you are not already a member you should join. They are not part of GM and are strictly a non-profit organization. They rely on donation, memberships and sales of items from the store. Remember they are there to promote the Corvette heritage and the Corvette community.

I was there a few weeks ago. It is a hugely entertaining and informative place to visit, without a doubt.
Going a little south of Bowling Green on 8/21 for the Total Eclipse. Then up to the Corvette Museum. Day trip from Cinci area.
I wonder how many are planning on doing that? My wife and I plan to drive up to Nashville to experience it. Could always continue on up the road a bit to the museum.
This is on my to do list for sure. I would love to visit the museum one day this year! The Corvette is such a special car that we are lucky to experience.
Living out here on the left coast I figured I'd NEVER get to go to the museum. But we finally did a road trip and had a blast. We also did the assembly line tour (which is closed now). The assembly line was better to me than the museum. It was all great! We also went to Talladega and then to Charlotte to the NASCAR museum. You must make the trip to Bowling Green. I'll never forget it!
My wife and I visited there in May in our just purchased 2011 GS vert, our 3rd vette. The place is awesome. As good as it is, the Assembly Plant tour is even better, and a great compliment to the museum. Anyone that has an interest in Corvettes should visit both places.

Use a #14 welding lens or some libraries are supplying for a small fee for glasses. At total eclipse, No need for using the glasses But for a very short time. 2.5 minutes at full eclipse. I think it starts around 1:30 PM. Wil be COOL

I've already booked my hotel in Bowling Green within walking distance to the museum in September this year. I would have liked to tour the plant but it's closed. Will have to just be happy visiting the museum. For those who have been there, how much time would one expect it to take?
Don't forget the Motorsports Park nearby and associated with the museum. Take hot laps around the 3.3 mile road course in your own car chasing a pro driver in a Z06 or drive one of their C7s. I was there last month in my 13 GS. Great experience.
I'm a lifetime member of the museum.
Last visit for me was in July 2010 (before the sinkhole). Here's a few pictures taken then for those that have never been there. If you are a Corvette enthusiast, the museum is definitely a bucket list item, along with the factory tour and the motorsports park. I used to live an hour from it and have been many times - the factory tour never gets old
