engine running loud when idle and louder when driving

I don't say this to hurt your feelings, but if your GM dealership told you that you have a "higher tier Corvette and it's more expensive to diagnose", then they are taking advantage of your gullibility. That is total BS!!
You need to get your Corvette to a shop that understands Corvettes...NOW! Hard telling what damage you are doing by continuing to drive the car with warning lights and error messages coming up.

You know that's an Oil Life Meter.... not a replacement for checking the level of the oil?
Ever think of taking a video and showing us what your problem is rather than call it a noise? Pretty hard to guess this one. Or at least give a description....

It amazes me that people come in here and ask for help, and then argue with those willing to help.
To the OP, either follow the advice given, or best of luck to you. By the way, if you continue to drive your car under the given circumstances, you most certainly are doing more damage than good. Good luck!

Small sampling size but so far we have one quiet LS motor running Mobil 1 and one Noisy LS motor running Pennzoil.. so given that it is a oil problem until something else shows up

Well in all my years this is the first time i've ever heard that you can quiet your engine down just by using a certain brand of oil, unless of course the oil you were using has "Crisco" written across the front.....

"soodabeh" (the OP of this thread) and "manzar" are both from Canada.
I am thinking that they are both one of the same or identical twins.
Here is the post started by "manzar" ...

I think this could be a new Corvette owner that got one with the NPP option and didn't know what it is and has accidentally switched it on and has left the gas cap loose after filling it up.
