I have one in mine. I used the Brey-Krause fire extinguisher mount, which mounts in front of the passenger seat. I did have to have my Lloyd's mat cut and restitched to accommodate the mount, but it would work fine with stock mats without needing to modify them.
I should have mentioned, I have a Convertible. Can it be mounted behind 1 of the seats? If so can you screw in the bracket there safely?
Not sure if the Brey-Krause mount would work behind the seat. There might not be enough clearance. It uses the seat base bolts for mounting, and with the extinguisher mounted in it, there might not be enough room for it to fit. It's really designed to sit directly in front of the seat.
For these various extinguisher set ups, are they rigged to a heat detector so they go off automatically or are you having to pull the pin? Also, is your hose plumbed into the engine compartment or in the case of the extinguishers in the rear cubby or the passenger compartment is that where the foam is going?

The extinguishers are manual use, meaning you have to remove them from the mount, pull the pin, and compress the handle.
I keep mine, which is the larger size dry-chem, in a two-box collapsible container in the rear. It is too large to put in front of the seat, but I can reach it quickly.

You're talking about a full fire suppression system that goes in a race car. All I'm after is a fire extinguisher just in case of fire with me or someone else. For my street car.
The passenger's legs are above the level of the extinguisher, so he or she doesn't even touch it.
Looks to me like any passenger couldn't pull their legs up to the seat. What am I missing ?? You know how it is in there sports cars. Any ride of any length and most people want to be able to move their legs around a little......

Had an Extinguisher in front of the passenger seat on my c5 for 15 years barely noticeable to my wife or me.
Clean agent Extinguishers are more expensive but work just as well and will not leave damaging residue on the engine or paint of the car.

Your right. Mu wife hates the extinguisher in that same place in my C3. That's why I asked that question. Not that she's big on the C6 for long drives. Lol. Leg room is important.
