Why not rent a vehicle to pick up the tire/wheels?
When I did it, it really was unnerving not being able to see to the right. I could not even see the mirror or A pillar. I only had to go about 20 miles with a right turn from the tire store (good visibility), a left turn with arrow, I immediately got in the right lane and stayed there, another right turn, and then a couple of lefts into the installing shop.
I don't think I would do it again.
well those pictures above are a little nerveracking! I'll be driving about 12 hour early but think it can be done
This question pops up from time to time, so I tried putting my spare set of wheels & tires in the back. They did not fit.
Yes they will.
Plus 2 in the passenger seat.
You just need to put the first one on top of the fuel crossover hump. The put the second one in clear to the left rear corner and pull the first one tight to it. Put the front seat all the way back to load the other tires, then move it forward to hold them tight against the dash. There's plenty of room left for a duffel bag and tools, etc. Depending on the spoke pattern, matching them up will help with right side visibility.
They are the same size (give or take a smidge) whether inflated or not if non RFs, and absolutely the same size if RFs.
Certainly not going to make a difference if they fit or not.
The fact that you can squeeze them absolutely helps. Which one is easier to crush....a fully inflated tire or a flat tire? Cramming these tires in requires every mm you can get.

I had 30 psi in those RF tires in the pics. No m&m's were hurt in the production of the event.
Yes, that's true. However, the OP was dealing with a base car IIRC.
BTW, as far as diameter is concerned the base tires are larger than GS tires. That wouldn't affect the tires transported in the hatch, but would require 2.2" extra width in the passenger seat, which does present a problem.
I see you've put 2 fronts and a rear in the hatch in your GS, so that'd solve the OP's problem if the drag tires are GS sized.
well ll I bought the car and could only fit 2 out of the 4 wheels it came with. Tires in the front seat were too wide to get the door to shut. Oh well, was still able to fit 2 in the back very easy without deflating and still could see out of the back window perfectly.

Congrats on getting your car...will you be able to get the other tires or not?

thanks! Not really worth it to ship them and making a 12 hour trip for a $500 drag setup isn't worth it to me. There's a local set that I like a little more for the same price so will most likely just end up buying that.
car just clicked over 25k miles on my drive home! It's a gem!
