I had a low battery recently that gave me a scare. I was finally able to start the car and drive it home, but with reduced electrical aids operating. One of those was the NPP. It was open all the way home. This was on surface streets at no more than 35 mph.

My ears! It was far too loud with the windows rolled up and the top on. Maybe it would have been better with the top off. I'm glad I have the NPP. Although, the sound of the base car without the NPP might have a better tuned sound at lower RPM?

Anyone know the difference in interior sound between the NPP when set open vs the non-NPP cars? Maybe my ears are just spoiled by my daily driving in economy mode

Drone is a resonance issue. It's an annoying harmonic when different parts of your car are resonating at near the same frequency.

I pulled the fuse on my NPP when I first got the car in May of '16 and never put it back. It's loud, but does not drone. It sounds very smooth and mellow to me.

Haha, I actually encountered the same issue. My NPP is very... moody in when it chooses to work. I was driving from San Fran to Seattle (~11 hour drive) and my NPP wouldn't close no matter how many times I spammed the close button, or even when I turned the car on and off. Then, after 9 hours of continuous driving, it randomly chose to work.

I didn't try to open it again for the rest of the trip.

If there were any drone it would be solved by turning my radio up, if it wasn't already cranked.

Funny How everyone talks about the drone with NPP. Only time I can hear it is while im on it but other than that its pretty quiet. Nothing a little radio cant fix. NPP should of been the stock exhaust because a vette should not sound like it does while closed.
