I am the second owner of a 2006 Corvette. Bought it with 6900 miles, they changed oil at 6900 but I have no clue about Transmission, Rear Differential, Coolant etc. I now have 8700 miles and getting ready to store for the winter. Should I get this fluid changes with that low milage? Does the years of age take effect also?
Do you have to? No. Should you? Depends. If you plan to keep it for years I would. Those fluids are now 11 years old. I would do coolant and brake fluid for sure. If you plan to flip it next year, I would not do anything.
I would change the fluids just for peace of mind. Particularly if it has never been done before, you're way overdue. Guys who don't put many miles on the car typically just change the oil annually.
