Most of the hardware on the Corvettes is coated in aluminum (I think).
Is there a source for replacement parts? other than the dealer?
I think the hardware is aluminized. Is that correct?
Yes I just snapped something...
also...why do the parts diagrams ie Cultrag/GM Parts suck so bad? I've never seen such incomplete parts diagrams (the Germans call out every nut, bilt and screw)...makes thing much easier.
Those are the diagrams provided by GM. Gene doesn't have anything to do with it.
I wondered about the coated fasteners myself, couldn't find any information on them. Corrosion may be the big issue, but haven't heard or seen much info on that either. Some of the guys use ARP fasteners.

The GM Fastener size and torque values are in GM Service Manuals, not typically in the Parts Catalogs unless they are specific bolts such as those used in engine assemblies.

McMaster-Carr, Fastenal and Eastwood are all good sources and are often cheaper than the dealer.
if the bolt is small and not a large threaded undercarriage bolt, your local hardware store may be a source as well.......
