My dog put scratches on the side of my car.
What is the best product to remove them?
In the old days it would be polishing or rubbing compound.
But is there something better to use now?
Thanks, Kliph

if they are not too deep or through the clear coat, meaning they do NOT catch your fingernail going across them, then you can remove them using the old traditional way of compound and polish.........
a wide variety of products out there, but I use Adam's products on the vehicles that I detail with great results..................
pictures of the "scratches" would assist with those who would respond here too...............
No "miracle" scratch remover that I am aware of. Its still polishing compound or rubbing compound, depending on how aggressive you need to be, and wax.
I had that exact thing happen to my car, I used "Meguiar's Scratch X20" worked great took out the scratches & then I used some polish compound to get the gloss back...
It comes down to how deep is the scratch. As mentioned, if you came catch your finger nail in it, it will bot buff out. Only paint will fix that kind of scratch. If you can't catch you nail in it, then as mentioned buff it out. Many good products out there.

Your dog did that? I'd shoot it.
I refuse to drive my car to my buddy's kid's house, because he has an undisciplined dog that I know would jump on my car.

Yup. At last check, there is no "Body Man in a Can."
It sounds more like it is through the clear and base coat. Wet sanding will not correct it. Also if you don't know how to wet sand properly you will do more damage then good.

Actually Dr. Color Chip does a great job. But then it is a product designed for fixing chips, not scratches.

I've had 3 professional painters examine a 24" scratch in my rear quarter say if you can feel it you will not be able to repair it.the scratch was approx. 1/8" in height and deep but not through the clear coat.looking at it you would think it had gone down to the primer and could easily feel it with your nail.have a friend that works for GM doing paint repair for a living.she looked at scratch and said she could probably correct it.12 hours of wet sanding and polishing later the 24" scratch that painters said couldn't be repaired was as new
