The car is doing crazy things. You're supposed to get 3 beeps if you leave the fob in the car, but about 1 out of three times I get 3 beeps with the key in my pocket. I replaced the batt. Because it, the fob, didn't work so I thought it needed a reset.

If it allows the car to start it does not need to be reprogrammed.

You're staying too close to the car after you got out and closed the door. One of the antennas in the car is still detecting it and the car "thinks" you've left the fob in the car. Reprogramming the fob won't fix that. Neither will changing the fob battery, that's why I asked why you thought it needed something done to the fob.
Move away from the car a little faster.
