Default Convertible Wind Screen Performance

I'm thinking of purchasing a wind screen for my 2007 convertible but am reluctant to do so until I can hear feedback from anyone who has one. Does the wind screen effectively reduce a significant amount of air turbulence and wind noise to justify the high expense. Also, is it relatively quick and simple to install and remove?

I've had the Wind Restrictor since May and found it made enough of a difference to make it a worthwhile addition. It's not perfect but it's at least a 50% improvement over having none. There is much less wind buffeting around your head and shoulders and its also noticeably quieter for listening to the sound system or carrying on a conversation.

The installation was fairly easy. I got it done in an afternoon and didn't need any special tools. As far as taking it out, there is no need since it doesn't interfere with the operation of the convertible top so it can be left in. I find it an attention magnet since I get lots of questions about it, how does it work, where did you get it etc.

I had the Wind Restrictor on my 2007 and just installed one on my new to me 2009. Love it and my wife really loves it. Very easy to install and for me it is very worth it as it allows you to drive comfortably with the top down from 40 degrees to 110 degrees.

If you are running with the top down at the temperature extremes on either end of your range you must be much more temperature "hardy" than me, or you have the windows up and are running heat and a/c. 😃 I don't like driving with the windows up and the top down.

For the OP - The Wind Restrictor makes a significant difference in wind buffeting around your head and shoulders but wind does come forward under the bottom where it is open. Install instructions were good and install was very simple for anyone with a little mechanical aptitude. Mine is etched and lighted, and I hooked the wiring up where they show you in the instructions.

Have a Wind Restrictor. Agree with what others have said: well made, fairly easy installation. The biggest improvement is that constant blast of air on the back of your head is way diminished and it's much quieter. There is still plenty of breeze so you enjoy a convertible.

If I had it to do over, I would not get any logo or light. The "Corvette" on the logo looks fine from behind and in the rear view mirror, but it is backwards when viewed from the front of the car. I don't hate the light, but find it mildly irritating, but have not put a on/off switch on it or disconnected it yet. Love the air improvement, don't love the look so I would keep it blank.

I have had a Wind Restrictor with the 60th Anniversary logo in my 13 GS for 3 1/2 years and love it. It does work very well and it allows us to have a conversation with the top down even at interstate speeds. I ordered mine with the Red LED's and wired it into the brake lights. I remove it for parades and it takes about five minutes. I tuck the light bar behind the waterfall until I reinstall the restrictor.

Only regret I have is not doing it sooner. Not only is it great looking but it actually does help considerably with wind reduction. My wife especially likes it.

Default Will Buy

Guess I’m number 3 for the wind restrictor.
I’ll take it if the prior 2 guys pass.
Should be a perfect Welcome Home gift for my newly purchased 427!

If you are interested in Jack's windscreen, this is a picture he sent to me. Send him a text message to his phone and he responds very quickly. I'm passing on it as I'm looking for the WindRestrictor.

To each his own. I would rather drive my Corvette with the top down and windows up than to leave it in the garage. With Wind Restrictor, windows up and seat heater on, my wife agrees. That provides me with many more miles of smiles
