Op, do you mean the crank pulley? If so, the small squeak will most likely get worse. So will the wobble until it eventually fails. If you had it replaced 6 months ago then hopefully the work was warrantied. Someone with more technical expertise may give you better or different information. Good luck.

So with you calling his equalizer a crank pulley, do both of you mean the harmonic balancer ??..........LOL
Check the main belt for frayed edges. If so, there is a misalignment or the wobbly HB is causing irregular belt wear on its edges, thus squeaking. If the HB is bad, then unfortunately it failed again. Do not replace with the oem HB! This happened to me and I replaced the HB with an ATI unit and no more wobble or squeaking.
Remove the belt and briefly start up the engine. If the squeak stops, then you know the issue is within the pulley system. Turn off the engine. Spin all pulleys and listen for any squeaking and pull laterally to check for movement on each pulley. If everything checks out fine, but the HB wobbles, then I would replace the HB.

"Harmonic Balancer and Crank Pulley are the same thing"
Well, yes and no. Pre LS, the harmonic balancer was a separate piece from the crank pulley. The crank pulley bolted to the front of the balancer. Now they are a one piece unit incorporating the balancer and pulley.

Well thanks L46....I wasn't gonna bring that up as I may have been accused of being one of those forum knit-pickers.....LOL....
LS2 means harmonic balancer & crank pulley are congruent terms.
OK....i'll bite....are we saying that the LS-2 is named LS-2 because of the crank & balancer/pulley configuration ?? If thats the case then whats the LS-7 crank and balancer look like ??......

I had a 2000 C5 with the LS1. Harmonic balancer and crank pulley were one and the same in that engine as well.
