Default When did black become grey

I had a 2003 with a black interior and it was actually black. I was looking at some C6’s and the black interior is not even close to the old black but I would call it a medium grey. When did the new black arrive?

The black interior with my 2012 coupe was black, not gray. Probably the gray ones you've seen were not OEM.

Are you are looking at a C6 with ebony (black) or titanium (gray) interior?

I think you might be right ... I was looking at the titanium color or custom colors and thought it was something else... and got even more confused with the C7’s black/grey. I will pay more attention next time.....

Ebony and black C6 interiors are two distinct things.

My '05 has ebony, which is a dark charcoal, and my '09 had black, which is a true jet black.

Titanium is almost as light as Cashmere.

I understood the C6 only had Ebony, not a choice between Ebony or Black. Mine's code l9l (or 19l, hard to see on my sticker), sure looks black to me, but depends on the light. Outside with the targa top off it looks dark charcoal.

They were different MYs, but I owned both cars at the same time, and they were different colors.

RPO codes:
Ebony is 193
Black is 191

I'm not sure if it depends on the year of the car you are looking at, but I had purchased two different targa tops for my car. Both had what looked like black interior head liner, but when put next to each other, you can definitely tell that one was black and better matched the interior of my 2012 while the other was a lighter black or charcoal grey/black color.
