Default Rust on rotors

Hello Friends, I bought these rotors, which are supposed to be the "ultra premium" from NAPA. They sell some that have zinc or nickel or something that is supposed to prevent rust but they were out of stock. Is there anyway to prevent this rust? I don't race and drive like a little old lady most of the time. Be nice now... I'm already suffering enough!

They will do that every time they get wet. You can paint them in the non contact areas or take them off and have them plated.

No big deal... I know it looks bad but it has no ill effects... first time you hit the brakes they clean themselves...

Very easy fix, I hate that also, the hardest thing will be pulling the wheels again. I cleaned the areas that will rust, very easy to see in your case too with rubbing alcohol or what ever you would want to clean before painting. I covered the calipers with newspaper so over spray wouldn't get them and proceeded to spray paint with flat black the areas that rust, you'll have to turn the rotor around to get the entire rotor, Don't worry if you get it on the surface where the pads contact, it will come right off first time you apply the brakes, just don't purposely paint that area. Let dry a few minutes, put wheel back on and repeat other wheels. I did mine a year ago and looks like I did it yesterday! Zero rust!

If you paint them use paint that is made for high Temps and maybe has an anti rust ingredient in it.....buying the zinc coated ones is the best way but to late now...GL

I totally agree with nowuseeme but I have many cans of plane ol' rustolium flat black spray cans and thought if it didn't work I'd get some really good hi temp but regular old spray paint worked great for me but I'm kinda easy on my car, no track days etc but if you have to go buy paint get the good stuff!
