Once in a while, if the weather is just right (like mild nights) it is a nice treat to take it off.

A hat is a very good idea if you're "thin" on top or not (like me ) because sunglasses alone on a sunny day with top off will NOT reduce all the light glare. I had bad headaches just wearing sunglasses. So taking top off requires a hat and sunglasses .

It's sure easier with 2 people. If you drop it on the pavement, you'll chip the paint (or worse).
After a few times it becomes routine. Easy for one person, if you're careful.
Undo the latches, lift up the front and hold with one hand, then slide the pins on the back out of their sockets enough to get the other hand on that side, then pull and lift. It's not all that hard to do.
I just push a button and my Vette does it for me. Just sayin'

I agree with almost all of the above.
Recommended to have a helper the first time or two (consider it insurance), but definitely a one-person task.
And yeah - I love being topless for city driving, but my commute involves 65+ mph driving, and it's not enjoyable due to the noise in my opinion, so I rarely run with it off. I have both glass and solid tops, and the glass top is great.... until summer arrives, then the solid top goes on due to the heat buildup with the glass roof.

If you can read these posts then I think you can read a manual?

While I appreciate your snarky comment, you could say the same about a great number of the posts here.....and maybe you do?!
I don't think there is anything in the manual about keeping a pair of gloves handy for hot days or keeping a hat available or needing to surrender your man card if you can't do it by yourself or watch out for the garage door and there certainly is no video in the manual either. Also good tip on the video about the GM lubricant for the seals.....kinda pricey though, I looked it up on Amazon and it was $60. I will shop around.

You mean like this little gem?
"Do not try to remove a roof panel
while the vehicle is moving.
Trying to remove the roof panel
while the vehicle is moving could
cause an accident. The panel
could fall into the vehicle and
cause you to lose control, or it
could fly off and strike another
vehicle. You or others could be
injured. Remove the roof panel
only when the vehicle is parked."

Just watch out for their brain-damaged pricing - $7.02 for 1, $39.50 for 2, $59.20 for 3, and $78.20 for 4. Who couldn't pass up deals like those?
I'm sure Amazon is not the only place you could buy it.

I don't think there's anything in the forum rules against asking a question that might possibly be answered in the Owner's Tome, sterile and incomplete though the answer may be.

The first time or two, I would say have a helper. Once you get used to doing it, one man can easy. I always remove it, rest the top on tops of my shoes; re position hands, put in trunk!

It's pretty clear than this will get you the 2008 manual. Just edit the URL, and substitute the year in both places. Goes as far back as 1993. e.g. for 2011 you would have
https://my.chevrolet.com/content/dam...tte_owners.pdf
Well, maybe it's not that clear - looks fine before I submit the replay, so right click on link, and select 'Open Link in New Tab', and then you can edit the link as you want.

Thanks, just downloaded it. I downloaded it once before on my iPad but it was a PITA to navigate on the iPad. I download it just now to my PC and was browsing.
I found this:
Notice: Driving with the parking brake on canoverheat the brake system and cause prematurewear or damage to brake system parts. Make surethat the parking brake is fully released and the brakewarning light is off before driving.
Wow, how come no one here told me this?! I was wondering my smoke kept coming out of my wheel...:-)

topless
it appears that people have different reasons for owning a 'vette.
I'm with though. i thought for sure that i wanted a convertible,
( still do ), but having the targa top gives you the best of both options.
when the top is on, it's 95% of time, the clear one. in the summer though, it's the solid one. where i live, even with a fully charged A/C, it can't keep up with 105°-110° temps. when that happens, i take it out in the evenings ( topless ).
