I've read this issue before and tried the tricks to get it to stop:
I've installed an "official" GM shifter-**** for my GS 6-spd. that's the 8-ball style/shape.
Installing results in a buzz during acceleration. Hand back on the **** stops the buzzing. Replacing the OEM **** also stops it.
Tried wraping the stick in electrical tape and putting cotton in the ball itself but to no luck. Tried tightening the hex-bolt extra good using Loktite blue but no luck.
Tried wrapping just the top of the stock stick in tape, barely fitting into the ball's hole; no luck.
It's hard to determine where exactly the buzz is coming from. It seems to be the resin ball itself and not the aluminum neck or the neck-to-ball connection area. It seems to be inside the resin ball against the OEM metal stick. I've thought about rounding down the half-moon-shaped stick's edges with a file.
I've heard some Z06 owners having the same issue with the stock ****.
Aside from my attempts, is there another trick?

I am not familiar with your problem but it sounds like something is loose inside the ****? Can you drill into the **** at the bottom of the threaded hole and squeeze some silicone or something similar in there that will fill any voids and solidify everything?
Shake your ***** and listen for anything rattling around. It would have to be something large that is loose for you to hear it vibrating. If it is new and you haven't defaced it, I would ask for a replacement ball.
Try taping a weight to the ball like a wheel weight or nut to increase the mass of the ball. It may be some sort of resonant frequency from the vibration of the shifter. If that works you would need to drill into opening and add a lead weight.

Try tightening the screw. The **** pivots on the side mounted screw. The oem base is not aluminum and can be compressed enough so the **** won't pivot. The cue ball **** mass is much larger then stock and the alum base doesn't compress easily. I counter sunk the hole a little to tighten the **** up. Another option is to wrap plumbers tape around the upper end of the shifter shaft.
