I am not a hard driver and put no more than 5000 miles a year in Los Angeles, but these batteries last no more than 2 years
Maybe, that's the problem. You aren't driving enough. You don't say whether you use a tender, because if you don't, you should if you only drive 5000 miles/year.

Auto Zone should have typically cheap batteries like everyone else.
If they are 36 months, don't count on getting 4 years of use anymore. Unfortunately, you likely won't find any better ones anywhere else. They are all the same.
I never considered a tender. I drive the car almost every day
Short trips are especially hard on the car, and the battery. Sub 20 minute trips are hard on the entire car; your OLM will get far fewer miles, all the systems will probably not even get up to full operating temps. It sounds like you are even doing less than 10 miles each way.
I agree with the others that have said you should check into using a battery tender and/or checking for a parasitic drain. I have been using batteries from AutoZone in all my vehicles for at least the last 2 decades without issue.

Thats my thinking, but I'n getting about 24 or so months
BTW- check out those pesky cables, particularly the ground side.
Mine goes dead without warning. I keep a 10 mm wrench, clean and reconnect it on occasion when I lose all power upon start up. I am not sure why it loses connection.
My OEM AC Delco (and on a CTEK whenever not driven) lasted over 5 years. I replaced it because I didn't want to be stranded in the Florida heat).
I replaced it with an Interstate several months ago and it is on the CTEK when sitting.
I have a 2011 and I'm still on the OEM AC Delco. I know....borrowed time, and I plan to replace it this Spring. I will be installing another AC. Yep, 7 years!
I am having no luck with Auto Zone batteries. What is the beast for my 08 , base w/ manual ?
There's nothing wrong with Auto Zone batteries. If you are getting premature failures, the problem isn't with the batteries but something else in your car. Check for parasitical drain when off.
I am using the AutoCraft Gold Battery, Group Size 90, 650 CCA in my GS.
It does some like you take a lot of really short trips if you drive it everyday but only put 5k miles a year on it. Your trips are so short that you probably not giving enough time for your alternator to recharge your battery from the power drain caused by just starting the car.
A battery tender would help out here. Just hook it up when you are done for the day and let it charge your battery over night. I pretty much always have my Corvette on a tender over night. My 2005 had a bad case of DBS so it needed it. But with the tender, I still had batteries last over 5 years.
