Do you drive your car?

I have no clue how you come to that conclusion. While I have only had mine a short time, I will always park in the back (not across 3 spaces however). I will park in the back because I try to take good care of my toys. I put a lot more effort into the appearance of my toy than I do with my daily driver. I can afford the car, paid cash for it. I can't afford to treat it like crap.

I love this thread and everyone's comments! I bought my 2016 Z51 3LT March 4th, 2017. It's my DD. I have 15,257 miles on it today. I had xPEL Ultimate clear bra installed front end, headlights, rockers and rear qtr. panels to try and minimize the DD grime. I had A/S tires mounted for winter. Just had the original summer tires mounted yesterday. I drive it sun, rain and snow. I just love this car more each day. It was 40 years since my last Corvette. I just have to drive it and love just looking at it.

Nonsense is right. It's utter bullsh!t. Nobody has the right to judge how someone else uses their car. That's arrogance at its finest.
The only thing I have to say to these people is, "When are you going to start making my car payments?" Unless someone is paying for my car, they have no right to tell me how to drive it.

I joined this forum when I was 63, have been online posting and chatting for the past 24 years, and never before in my life have I felt I was among teenagers, when in fact most members here are around my age, give or take.

Quoting myself from two years ago in this thread:
"You have to drive it!" -- or whatever the thinking is.
This mentality reminds me of the "Iron Butt" club that is associated with Harley riders. You *MUST* put on tons of miles or "you're not a real Harley rider."
Well sorry, I rode when I felt like it, and I didn't wear the "Harley uniform" either. I smiled a lot too, which is against the Harley code -- you're supposed to have a grim, tough-guy look on your face all the time.
I was never a joiner, I hate groups, and have no interest in joining any Corvette club.
I work at home, and total about 6,000 - 7,000 miles a year all told. I only drive my Vette in nice weather, and if I feel like it. So I end up putting about 2,500 miles per year on it. What am I supposed to do, just drive it for the sake of racking up miles so I can be classified as "a real Corvette owner?" LOL, that's freaking dumb.
I don't have the herding instinct or the inner need to be accepted into some group, that most humans do.

We have a lot in common. I'm retired, will be 72 in May, have a silver 2005 six speed, 1SB Corvette that we bought in 2012 with 13,300 miles on the odometer. Six summer snow and still thoroughly enjoying it.

Mine is a 2013 and has 12000 miles so it does not get driven much. Only in the summer and has never been driven in the rain.
So I guess mine is a garage queen.
Keep saying I'm going to drive mine more each year....maybe when I retire in a couple of years

First corvette was a daily driver can’t say that was an ideal situation. I’m on the second now plus two little ones I take to school 3-4 days a week in addition to owning a sport bike I enjoy riding. With life and other toys both of which I assume most corvette owners have 10k a year could be hard. In the last six months I’ve put 3k on the clock something I’m neither proud nor ashamed of.

Just purchased my 2006 Z with an amazing 4500 miles. So my baby is virtually new. But really I do not understand why this was only driven 400 miles per year as it is way to awesome to sit all of the time. Yet, I work and park daily surrounding by hundreds of cars driven by people I barely know. So yes mine will not be a daily. But that makes it even more fun on the weekends!

I couldn't keep up with myself if I was 18 again. I quit having birthdays after my 39th. Now I just have anniversary's of that 39th birthday. I only have 2 more times until the 39th anniversary and then I'll start with annual celebrations of the 39th anniversary. I'm pretty sure I'll never have 39 celebrations.
I drive places to see things and meet people. I almost always take the Vette. Life is too short to drive boring cars. It's a journey, not a destination.
WTH, I might even come to see you before my 39th anniversary.

Had my 2003 A/E since new and it was sitting in the garage, then one day my Grand kids asked if they could drive it since I don't . That night I started thinking why did I buy it? Been completing retired since 2014. Well last year (2017) I put over 15,000 miles on it smiling all the way, now I know why I bought it. Leaving on a 4000 mile trip out west on 29 April all by myself without the wife and Grand kids....ME TIME!!!!!!!! and visit all the military bases I was stationed at in the past. The last trip I took was in 2003 when a bunch of us went to Maine to pig out on lobster for a long weekend. I don't really care about traveling SO I DON'T DO IT. Sorry to the Corvette Police.
Twice now I've been a member of AARP and gave it up after a year or so. There are NO BENEFITS to me. They think everybody who's old likes to travel, or goes to a chain restaurant for breakfast every day.
People expect that when you retire (I haven't yet) that you will want to travel. I'm not going to, my parents didn't, my two retired sisters don't, nor do any of my friends.

My Corvette is not a garage queen and none of my guns are safe queens. I bought my Corvette to drive. I even drive it in the rain and I park it as close to the door in a parking lot as possible. I have bought several collector guns and then take them to the range and shoot them. If you buy a car and don't drive it or you park at the far end of the parking lot across three spaces, it tells me you can't afford the car.
So when your car gets parking lot rash, keyed, backed into, etc. You like supporting your local body shop?

I bought my 2012 last month with 11,xxx miles on it . It is excellent condition and I hope to keep it that way . For me .. I look at it as a special enjoyment , not a daily driver . I drive it on pretty afternoons as a relaxing unwinding time , just like friends of mine have bass boats , pontoon boats ,atv's and motorcycles . I plan on having this a long time , driving , polishing , and enjoying . With all the posts and opinions here , it reminds me of a saying an older friend says to me . " that's why they make chocolate and vanilla "

Mine is a daily driver to work three days a week. 15 miles each way. Actually doesn't get driven on the weekends much because of the kids and we need to take a vehicle with more seating.
Wife and I take it for a ride for a getaway once in awhile.
I actually use the vette to take the kids to hockey practice too. All the dad's are surprised at how much room there is for the gear bag and hockey sticks. My boys play travel hockey.

The body shop that get's my business is the hospital. No matter how well I try to maintain my body and clean it, the damn thing doesn't work or look as good as when I first remember it.
